Sorry for the delay. If the dsi won't turn off when you first get the white screens, hold the power button for 8 seconds. The unit should go off. Take the game cartridge out of the unit and inside that cartridge slot, is a reset button. Using a toothpick or something, press it. Turn the unit back on and it should be fine. Hope this helps :D
There may be a cable loose in the system causing the screen to stay white. You will need to have this repair or it will stay that way. A place I would recommend is www.videogame911.com. They offer good repairs and are fast.
Unfortunately, that error code means that the DSi's firmware is corrupt and must be repaired. Your best bet is to call Nintendo and see if they can do it for you via your warranty so you won't have to pay: (800) 255-3700
I am having the same problem with my daughter's. I had to return the first one because of that code.. and now the second one has it too. I am out of the 90 day return policy period though. In my opinion, these things weren't quite ready to hit the shelves when they did.
Ok you have to disconnect to the internet by loading up the internet screen and touching disconnect, once you have done this you should be able to play your games.
It could be a malfunction in the Dsi. What you can do is contact nintendo and ask for help. A similar problem that happened to me occured but it got it sorted by contacting nintendo and asking them for help.
