Not enough space for Music DB, please free 8 MB

Just got this mp3 player two days ago. I put 1GB of music on it. Now it says there are "no files" on the mp3 player. When you plug it into the computer, it says that 1GB of space is used but still shows nothing. Nothing will play. When you power up the mp3 player, it says "Not enough space for Music DB. Please free 8MB." (this also happens when you press menu.) Then it goes to the screen that says "no files."

Please help!

I can load approximately 800 MB before it claims the drive is full. However both the m250 and windows explorer show that it has 1.2 GB of free space remaining. I already have firmware 4.1.08A and there don't appear to be any updates available. In addition, when I switch from MTB to MSC mode as the firmware updater requires I can no longer see any of the songs I had already downloaded.

The problem is that I can't get into the menu. I turn it on, it says
not enough space... and then it turns down. I can't set it to MSC or
anything. I tried to upgrade the firmware but some problems occured.

The Sansa m250 requires a separate folder to load your songs to in order to achieve the full 2 GB. Set your USB to MSC. Plug it into your computer. Create a folder TUNES. Then drag and drop your mp3 or wma files to this new folder.

Just backup your Sandisk, format the Sandisk, then copy all back, it works for me this way

Connect to your computer copy music to a folder and save as whatever name you give it Then format Check the folder with the music in it to see if there is a file thats not MP3 delete it if there is one then replace the musicto the sansa keep about 6MB of free space

" Not enough space for music DB. Please free 8 MB." Huh??

wire it up to a windows pc, treat it like a harddisk, search through the folders for the mp3's you won't to get rid off, delete the files you want from it, like you would from a computer.then copy some mp3's
to it, unplug, finished.
formatting it might erase some of the software the player needs to run, so you better don't. enjoy your favorite music :-)

Not working 1gb sansa clip

What does that mean - "music db" ? I put all of my music on my 1 Gig and it works great. I put all Harry Potters audio books on my 8 GIG and still have 1.5 gig left for music.

Not enough space for music DB. Please free 90MB

Remove the microSD card and then delete one or more files from the Sansa's internal memory to free up an additional 90MB.

Everything is wiped out and so is the radio! Please help !!

The Music DB refers to the information (i.e. - Artist, Album, etc.).

The device need you to free up 6MB so it can create this.

Connect the device to the PC and delete several songs until you have at least 6MB free.

Disconnect it, restart, and youre all set.

Best of Luck.

Error message: Not enough space for music DB. Please free 4MB.

Hi I have just bought a Sandisk Sansa M250, we loaded som music on it and it lasted 2 hours, then it the message came "Not enough space for music DB please free 8 MB". I couldnt even go in to the menu. I contakted Sandisk.com and 24 hours after they came up with an answer. If it's currently frozen, hold down the power button for 20 seconds in order to soft reset it. Let's try to format the player (THIS WILL ERASE ALL FILES FROM THE PLAYER). Plug it into your computer, then open My Computer, right-click the drive associated with the player, and choose Format. It may give you a choice of file system, if so, choose FAT (it may only let you choose FAT32, which is fine). Now click on Start and it should format the player. If not already done, please also update the firmware from this link: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1368 The 20 seconds on the power button didnt work, but the formation did. Hope this helps. //Cadmann Please bear with my english
