Hi,
It means the print head temperature is too high. The only was to resolve this error is either replace the print head or replace the logic board. The print head is available, part number QY6-0061 but you will struggle to find a logic board. The only other thing you can try is resetting the EEPROM on the logic board, this sometimes clears the error. This means The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." U052

The solution is follow the directions given in the Easy Setup Instructions to install the Print Head.

If the Print Head is already installed, remove the Print Head once and then reinstall it.

If the error is not resolved, the Print Head may be damaged and may need replacing.

6B00 is a paper feed error, look in the back with a mirror and flashlight, and see if something has fallen in where you put the paper for printing.

error code u052 is a print head error that means the print head is faulty If unit is still under warranty should cover the printhead. Go ahead and call canon support number for your region or go online to canon website for closest Authorized Service Facility and they will take care of it for you.

Got the error U052.....with incorrect print head. Has been printing just before. How do I remove the printhead and place it back in. My printer is Canon MP610

THESE ARE THE STEPS

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button n pres Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button nd let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal

After reading through earlier problem fixes, I inserted a piece of Card right through the feed system then taped all the covers and loose paper feed trays closed with masking tape. Picked the whole unit up, turned it upside down and shook it up and down and side to side quite hard. Put it back in place on the desk, undid all the tape and plugged both cable back in and switched it on. It went through a long startup process, spat out the card sheet and has worked OK since then (about 15 sheets printed).
Thanks for all the ideas in earlier fixes.
