Did you use a brandname ink cartridge - or is it a knock-off brand? If it is a brand name - then the cartridge is most likely defective. If it is a knock-off brand - some printers do not recognize the electronic in the cartridge and therefore don't see it as one being installed.
You have to empty out the waste toner bottle... The bottle is a milky white plastic and I believe it is right under the fuser unit. It should slid out toward you. Carefully dump the toner out of the bottle into a plastic garbage bag and re install the bottle and you are done....
That problem is frequently on HP 2600 series.
You must try to change all remanufactured toner cartridges with HP OEM with no exception, the best alignment it is when you change the black cartridge and the printer make a cleaning page process. Cartridge HP OEM should be almoust empty. It Is not necesarry to be a new one. After the alignment process, you can put the remanufacturated cartridges back on.
This was work for me. 100%
Beside you ended the limit of cheeping cartrige in 3500 copees format A4 mineses, you should not simply fuel his(its) toner, but gain new one cartrige or reenter the cheep microcircuit whereupon fall asleep toner
I have just resolved the "Install black cartrige" issue on my printer I am not sure if it will solve everyone's problem but these are the steps I took to solve the problem.
1. removed the black cartrige. 2. removed all the paper from the tray and noticed that one of the pages was a little jammed. 3. I then turned the printer on and off again and still encountered the "Install black cartrige" error message. 4. I then put the black cartrige back in the the printer and restarted the printer. 5. When the printer restarted it started to initialize correctly and I perform some test prints to confirm that it was back up and running.
Does not sound right. There is an option in the menu to continue printing when toner is out. Currently it could be set to Stop at Out. Change this to Override Out.
1. From the main menu, press (Right arrow) to System setup and press (Select).
2. Press (Right arrow) to Print quality and press (Select).
3. Press (Right arrow) to Replace Supplies and press (Select).
4. Press (Right arrow) to Override out and press (Select).
5. Press (Select).
