How do I add music?

Here Goes:

  1. Plug in the Philips mp3 player to your computer. Use a USB cable to make the connection so you can begin synchronizing your music collection.
  2. Start Windows Media Player. Depending on how your computer is set up, this program may start automatically when you make the connection with the MP3 player
  3. Find the Sync tab in the media player window. Click on this tab and open the Sync screen. The Sync screen has two panes. The left pane is for the music collection on your computer; the right pane is for the Philips MP3 Player
  4. Choose the songs from your collection that you want to add to theMp3 Player's memory. Check the boxes that are presented by each song title
  5. Click the "Start Sync" button. The files from your computer are being copied onto your MP3 player.
  6. Wait for the sync to complete. You can monitor the progress in the "Windows Media Player" window.
  7. Close the media player program. Unplug your Philips mp3 player from the computer
  • NOTE: If this doesn't work you might be able to see your player in the MY Computer window.(after you connect it via USB cable) Select the player copy the songs and paste them into the player. Safely remove the device. You should be able to play the songs ..

My son has a philips go gear mp3 player 2gb some

Ok, just make sure you put songs that are compatible with the player like mp3 or wma, but most preferably, mp3. if you put any other format than mp3 it will only appear as a file in the flash and will not play.

Songs don't want to synchronize onto my device

First you need to sync device before adding songs. First plug in device, than make sure computer notices player. Than go into media player or music folder and sync device. Than you can either create a sync list from there, or you can drag songs from music folder into your player folder.

Open start menu, my computer, E,F, or G drive should have player on it. You can drag songs from music folder into this drive folder and they will be automatically added

Mp3 player

Load the Philips software onto your computer. You have to load the songs onto the player using WMP (Windows Media Player) 8 or 9. Connect the player using the USB cable. Run the Philips Go Gear Digital Audio Player software. Upgrade the firmware. This will format the player and erase everything you have done so far. Start WMP. Click on the Synch tab.It will have 2 window panes. In the right side, at the top, there is a drop list. Select the player from the list. Now create a synch list by clicking on edit playlist. Once you have added the songs, click Start Synch. That's all there is to it. Ian

RIO ce2100

Try this and let me know if it works: Plug the player into the computer (by the USB cable obviously), open your Rio Music Manager, go to "Tools", "Synchronization options". Then create a "synchronization profile" as instructed. As you progress through the instructions, your second preferrence to edit is called "content deletion". This is where you can tell your player to NEVER delete your music. (Choose "never" from the dropdown menu). Then follow the rest of the steps, answering the other questions as you prefer. Hopefully this will prevent your player from losing songs you've already downloaded.
