  1. to recalibrate: first open Toolbox.
    • For Windows XP:
    • Click Start (), click All Programs, click HP, click your product, and then click HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Toolbox.
    • OR in Windows Vista:
    • Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, click your product, and then click HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Toolbox.
  2. Click the Device Settings folder, and then click the Print Quality page.
  3. Under Print Quality, click Calibrate next to Calibrate Now.
  4. Click OK when the 'Your request has been sent to the device' message appears on the computer. The calibration process begins.
NOTE: Calibration might take 2 to 3 minutes. Do not turn the product off during calibration.
  5. When calibration ends, try printing again. If the issue is resolved, stop troubleshooting.
    • If you are still experiencing print quality issues, repeat steps 1 through 5 in this solution. You can recalibrate the printer as many as 3 times.

Hi - I also have found that some printers do not accept re-filled cartridges. I had a friend who used refilled, and they leaked throughout the mechanism of his printer - he ended up having to buy a new printer, so I urge people to stay away from re-filled. The little bit of money you save is not worth taking the chance you will ruin your printer beyond repair. I would either buy all new cartridges, or try re-installing your used ones IF they are originally from your printer. I am a computer/electronics cleaner and have run across this problem quite often. Usually the printer cannot be 'saved'. Jeanne

SOURCE: Laser Printer Problem

Do a panic stop while the machine is in the middle of processing copy. Remove the imaging unit and lift the drum cover to view the surface of the drum. If the image produced on the drum is OK (ie.no ghost image) then focus your attention on the hot rollers just before the paper exit. Otherwise your problem is the imaging unit.

SOURCE: HP3800 has blurry text

Hi, dont know what the previous person means by developer as that is usually the toner cartridge and you have changed this. You need to do a test sheet and stop it before it gets to the fuser. By doing this you will be able to establish if blurring is occurring before the fuser or after passing through the fuser. My experience with this has been that it is either the toner cartridge or a fault with the fuser assembly.

SOURCE: HP laserjet 5550 not printing cycan. Replaced

You will not find the answer to this problem on any forum as I have searched each one! However I have had the same problem and found out that if you have reseantly replaced or reseated the Paper Pic-up assy you may have not pushed down the plastic top cover which sits directly underneath the Cyan Cartridge, this will cause your 5550/5500 to think there is no problem and carry on printing without any error messages.
I'm just a man doing a boys job, lol

Testimonial: "Wow! Thank you sir. That was the problem. I had not touched the paper input assembly. So obviously, a user did this. Thanks again!"

SOURCE: I have repalced red cartridge in CP1215 laser

I am not familiar with the model, but the toner cartridges I use have a tab you have to pull that is attached to a long plastic strip that releases the toner. This has to be removed before you can use the cartridge. Just asking to be sure.

HP CP3505n only cyan is very light on paper, cartridge is 3/4 full and it was good before paper jam

Hi delumo

Thanks for trusting Fixya for solutions

It is due to bad color calibration. Do try to perform manual calibration option from the printer menu to solve the issue. And before the take the CYAN cartridge our the printer and shake it a little so that the toner powder gets spread equally. And then perform the calibrations.

HP Color Laser Jet CP1215: won't print at all since magenta is out. I changed printer to grayscale but just keeps blinking the magenta sing and the traiangle with ! sign next to it

I know the frustration being in IT for over 20 years working on various peripherals.
These printer MIX so that way there is a balance at the final phase. You have to purchase a magenta cartridge to get this working again. Bypassing this will make tis printer suffer and long term damage can cause a economical issue on your end in the long run.
Now if your at a critical point you can bypass but I do not professionally recommend this but here it goes.

1. Open the CP1210 Series Toolbox 2. OPEN System Settings 3. Then enable Cartridge Out Override 4. Then click apply
I hope this works for you, whilst you purchase a magenta toner. Please do not forget to leave a positive rating and feedback.

I installed new cartridges (4 colors (B, Y, M & C) and closed the top cover, it calibrating continuously for a week and more. So, please help me to solve this issue. My printer model is HP Laser Jet...

Hi I'm sorry to say its normally a faulty cartridge.
You now the black belt in the front of the machine well the machine when it calibrates prints a pattern on the belt and it uses this pattern to calibrate its self but if the pattern is not on the belt it can not finish the calibration.
solution replace the toners one at a time until you get it going

HP LaserJet 1500... prints color yellow ONLY

It's possible that the toner in the cartridge is not evenly distributed. You can redistribute toner if you gently shake the cartridge from side to side, then reinstall it to see if this affects performance. Please also see this article.
You might wish to use the guided troubleshooting option available from HP support here. Or have a look at the troubleshooting section in the user manual here. Then clean the engine & calibrate the printer, as described pg. 88.
If that's no help, please see this forum post and the linked attachments within.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
