unless there are some other connectors that may be used, i would think that the issue would be resolvable thru the system settings menu, there may be a speaker arrangement setting somewhere in the menus. The Sub is a .1 setting like 5.1 or 7.1, perhaps even 2.1 where the beginning number is the speaker channels and .1 is the sub. I would think with the sub being on a mono channel it woul/should work with any setting. If there is any more info you could supply I will further research this issue and try to help you get the sub working.

Let me show how to resolve your problem since you are not very good at this system.
A/V troubleshooting 101:
Remember the 2 speakers that you mentioned before that it worked.First, locate the one speaker output that work for you before(ex. front left)you will use this speaker output to connect each one of the speaker and leave the system on either tuner(radio with a proper station=101.3) or a dvd with sound, this way,you are troubleshooting two things for sure A. be sure all your speakers do work and B. your source is working.
After you test all the speakers with the same speaker output which had confirmed the speakers are working, that particular speaker output is working and also your source is working, send me an email and i will show the next step.
However, for any reason,if one of those speaker got no sound from the same speaker output connection, please do not waste anymore time, should take it back to the place you bought it from and get our money back and try to buy the A/V system separately(A/V receiver with speakers in one package, separate dvd player, etc.)
Cheers,
