Check the power outlet for power.
Check the back for a screw-cap button fuse.

If that doesn't work, take it to a service centre.

Other than unpluggingfrom the mains (if haven't been tried) for an extended period of time (say overnight), there are no reset procedures applicable to this CD shelf system. The idea is to force the unit to revert back to factory defaults.

Almost always, a faulty speaker/connection would short out the output stages hence the 'PROTECT' error message. The only time this messge would be gone is when the built-in diagnostics no longer senses the fault, i.e. after it has been repaired.Sorry.
