SOURCE: Coffee beans will not grind

If the grinder is blocked try changing the grinder setting up to the coarsest setting (I think it is numbered 16 on this model) and then vacuum or fill with beans and push them through. Be sure that any damp coffee has gone as you don't want the grinder blades to be left wet.

Never freeze or refrigerate your coffee beans as the condensation from doing this can also block your grinder. Also never use coffees that have been flavoured during the roasting process as they are often too sticky or oily and will block your grinder. These coffees should be ground using a grinder that can be easily pulled apart for cleaning...which is not the case in the Saeco automatic machines.

After you have finished clearing your grinder you will want to turn it back down to a finer setting ( a setting of 6 or 7 works well on this model) however you should only turn the grinder setting finer while the machine is actaully grinding. Otherwise you may find the coffee beans jam between the blades.

If you are unable to clear the blockage it might need to go to a technician.

SOURCE: bypass doser malfunctions

Happens when the preground coffee is not ground fine enough, you may have to put the pre ground coffee in a manual coffee grinder to make it finer. The machine is not really designed to brew regular coffee grounds.

SOURCE: no coffee

Hi,

Make sure the water pipe not is broken.
If you take out the brewing unit and look at the chassis on the machine, you can see a hole, there should be a little plastic pipe comming from the machine down to the hole. If this is broken then the water will go to the driptray.

Saeco Comfort not grinding beans long enough

Page 7 of the manual refers. The grind change will only work if you change it with the machine running and will take a while for the grind change to appear in the dispensed coffee. The quantity of ground coffee can be adjusted, and so can the amount of water mixed with the coffee and dispensed to the cup.

Hi,

There are whole coffee beans, and there are ground coffee beans, but there is no such thing as "pre-ground" coffee beans because you wouldn't want the beans to be ground AFTER making coffee.

If you have a problem using "pre-ground" beans, then STOP using pre-ground beans and grind them yourself.

I hope this helps.

The ground coffee is not passing down to the brew unit. It is grinding the beans but going no further thereby back filling the powder filler

The usual problem is the grind is too fine. Try turning the large knob in the bean hopper to the max 16 and turning the small knob to the minus (-). If it works turn the large knob down (only when it is grinding can you turn to a smaller #) but higher than you had before the trouble.

Is water supposed to be added to the base and top chamber of the coffeemaker?

Only the base, then the water passes through the coffee as steam, re condenses and makes a great cup. Try and use specialty grade coffee, ground to mocha pot coarseness for the best results, not filter grind

I have a saeco Talea Giro machine. When I press the button to make coffee, the beans grind but no coffee comes out, but raher the water comes out of the steam spout. What is the solution

Check the screen on the brew unit, it might be blocked. If the brew unit is cleaned and the problem is still happening then the steam valve needs to be rebuilt because the pins are allowing the water pressure to pass through.
