SOURCE: does the new bose dock station charge the new ipod touch (32g)?

The new SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible all iPods and the iPhone 3G. Also the SoundDock Portable will do this. But..
Better news-> Call Bose. They can upgrade the 30-pin connector to charge via USB-only and function with the remote as well. $99. This will make your iPod touch 100% compatible and somewhat future-proof your SoundDock. If the SoundDock was purchased within 90 days (at full retail price), they will do the upgrade for a smaller fee or even free I think.. (new 1 year warranty given with repair/mod) btw- This is an Apple issue, not a Bose issue. All 3rd party iPod connection devices had to make this change at some point.

SOURCE: our sound dock does not charge our ipod touch 2nd

The original SoundDock will not charge the iPod touch 2nd gen, or the iPhone 3G, or the new nano either. This is because Apple changed the way their new iPod products charge. (via USB only now)
There is 1 solution- Call Bose tech support. They can replace the 30 pin metal connector for a new one that will charge this. If this is not under warranty, it will cost $99, but it's worth it. New 1 year warranty, and compatibility with all iPods (except much older- non-clickwheel iPods)

SOURCE: Bose Docking Station incompatibility with IPOD Touch

Hello all,

I have a Bose Sound System, and wrote that my iPOD touch would not charge. Got a message back from Bose, see comments. Do write them, as they give a solution. Seems they feel us on this issue...

'Bose is aware that the new versions of the Apple® iPod® Touch (8GB, 16GB and 32GB) and iPod Nano (8GB and 16GB) do not charge when docked on the original Bose® SoundDock®.

Previous versions of these iPods used a specific pin on the dock connector on the bottom of these iPods for charging purposes. The pin to charge these iPods was changed to a different pin with the introduction of the newer models mentioned above.

The Bose® SoundDock® was designed to charge iPod models which were designed to be charged via the older charging pin.

Bose is pleased to offer a solution which will allow you to send the SoundDock directly to Bose, so it can be modified to charge these newer model iPods via the new charging pin that Apple has used on these newer models.

If you are interested in learning additional details about this program, then we will need to know some additional information:

--Daytime phone number
--Daytime UPS shipping address
--Reseller the SoundDock was purchased from
--Date of purchase from the reseller
--Serial number from the bottom of the SoundDock

With this information, we can provide additional information regarding this program, so you can determine if you would like to take advantage of the offer.

Note: If you elect not to receive additional information regarding this program, please be aware that these newer model iPods will still play audio through the Bose SoundDock, and the SoundDock remote will still control the iPod while it is docked, however, the SoundDock will not charge these iPods for the reasons noted above.

SOURCE: new ipod won't charge on bose docking station

I have been looking for sometime and have finally found a 3rd party power converter. Another solution is to send your docking station to Bose and for $99.00 they will repin the dock so charging will work. The converter and adapter only cost about $30.00. Here is the link to the site I ordered from. I just ordered it so I am not abot to confirm functionality yet.....

Can not play music from the ipod dock, can see the songs but it will not play. HT-C6600

I have had problem with the unit freezing up. To resolve this, I remove the ipod from the dock
be sure a song is playing on the ipod; replace it into the dock; when the message - no disk - appears, then press the red "A" button to select ipod. That brings up song list and hitting the center SELECT botton on the remote, it plays the song correctly.

HOWEVER, if I hit the return button in the middle of play, I cannot go back and play a different song. The unit freezes on STOP. Or if I wait until the end and go back to the song list, then it starts to play the next song with no sound. When this happens the display on the unit flashes "MUSIC" / (play time), repeatedly.

The Samsung help-line thinks this is a problem with the iPod dock and are sending me a new dock. But I don't think that is where the problem is. I think the HT-C6600 is defective.

Bose Sound Dock remote control - only volume works

My remote worked perfectly until I changed the battery. The original battery was CL 2032 and I replaced it with DL 2032. After replacing the battery, only the volume control works. The off button will only fade the sound while the button is depressed. Release the button, and the volume returns to the original level and the unit remains On.
None of the other buttons work.
If you've found a solution, please post it here.

Bose docking statoin

They both use the same speakers, my personal opinion deems they are both the same. However the second SoundDock charges via USB pin, so it is future proof for future iPods.

No sound

Try other iPods, if they give you sound it's a problem with your iPod, if not then check to make sure you are using the right plate by removing the insert and try the iPod without it. Otherwise contact Bose.
