Question about Bose SoundDock digital music system Docking Station for iPod - White (35703)
Try other iPods, if they give you sound it's a problem with your iPod, if not then check to make sure you are using the right plate by removing the insert and try the iPod without it. Otherwise contact Bose.

i have the exact same problem
I've tried other ipods on the dock and had the same result, the speaker still works because I was able to it through my computer. The docking station just isn't reading the ipods. Can it be a software problem? Can updating the ipod software help?
I know the song is playing because it's counting down, but no sound comes out. It's not my iPod because I've tried 2 iPods and it's doing the same thing with both.
