You have a bad fan. 4 blinks is a stuck or non responding fan. Check the one on the back near the lamp to see if its moving or not.

C:31:42 indicates that you having a problem with capstan motor. It has to be replaced.

Sorry, no light, no flash! It IS, however, compatible with the Sony HVL-HFL1 Combination Light and Flash unit - MSRP $149.99, but it's online for as cheap as $106 through Amazon. Flash range is 5m, and it's powered off the camera battery, so there's no in-flash battery to worry about...

do you have the sensors at the bottom of the door? if so they might be out of alignment. all you have to do line them up by getting the green light solid. let me know if this helps you.

Connecting wire/ cable between LCD and Main Board is broken/ cracked and needs to be replace. Contact nearest Sony Service Center for proper repair.

This sounds similar to a problem I had. I brought the camera in under warranty and the repair shop fixed it. They shop text is cryptic.
Problem: Camera light keeps flashing, not charge
Solution: Troubleshoot to intermittent switch block control, replace with new one, test OK.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.

the flexwire cable is have an openline and that line is connected to the touch screen panel...it have to repaired or replace that flexwire to the service center....in our shop we modified that wire and became more durable than the original wire......:-)
