So therefore try and install the driver into a Operating system version support by your devices.
Or you check sony support online through google to download driver for your type of Operating system if available.

I have windows 7 home
Hello, I too use the same camera, the driver for your camera is now free for download on the net to work with Win 7 okay? all you need do it connect your movie camera to the firewire prot on PC (NOT USB) and into the camera it goes into a tiny little plug like a D shape.
Once you have camera connected to PC then turn PC on and your PC finds your camera right away once booted uo.
I get the error code
The C:31 42 error code can represent a variety of issues, including moisture on the head and a dirty head. To start: try removing the tape, leaving the camera open in a dry place for an hour. You could even try using a fan. Make sure the power is off.
After an hour:
Then try putting the tape back in the camera and try recording/playing again.
If that does not work it may require that you use a head cleaner in your camera. You can get one at Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Sony-V825CLD-Camcorder-Cleaning-Cassette/dp/B00005TQKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299295358&sr=8-1
If those solutions do not work, you can also try a hard reset on the camera, which will wipe all of your settings and set everything back to 0.
Good luck!
HOW DO I COPY MY
To get the best quality use the fire-wire connector. You can use the USB port but this is not fast enough to get good results. You will need to install the drivers and software on the CD that came with the camcorder and you also need some good video capture and editing software.
