I just cleaned our the brew group of my Saeco Vienna Plus and I unscrewed the screen and cleaned it also. Now when I brew, I am getting a puddle of water in my grounds bin along with the grounds puck. I am also getting a little puddle under the machine. Why is this happening?

First, I'm NOT a Saeco technician, But I have worked on similar machines. It's odd that you had to clean the screen of the machine though I'm not sure it this is a recommended procedure as these home "super automatic" are a ROBOT espresso maker. Yes on large espresso machines the group screen is easily removed for daily or at minimal weekly cleaning. There is a screw in the center which is easily removed and screen is brushed till clear of grounds.
* I'm surprised that you can access this screen. But since you have already done so then I guessing you disassembled the piston
assembly (the part that squeezes the grounds to form the puck.
* Okay, The group usually has a number of gaskets (or O-rings)
and I can see from the "Gasket Set"
https://www.bing.com/shop?q=+Saeco+Vienna+Plus&FORM=SHOPPA&originIGUID=202322DD03D24C3DBC248AAE69EBE4D6
There are quite a few gaskets. Now since these are available on line I'm guessing they have been made available to those willing to replace them. So maybe your okay.
* I suspect one or more of the gaskets are not sitting just right to make a proper seal. It's either broken or not in place. Thus the group leaks and water is probably leaking past the piston and leaks on puck after it dumps.
* There is another possible problem (watery pucks) is that the piston is not compressing the coffee into a proper puck. It needs to squeeze the grounds down to restrict and slow down the hot water giving it enough time to extract the coffee essence from the grounds. If your getting weak coffee and watery, loose pucks then it's the piston. This could be caused by a misplaced compression spring or that loose gasket getting in the way.
* I would normally suggest you calling for service. But Since you have already taken this unit apart (and I Don't know about the warranty) You may have to carefully work your way backwards on what you did to see if anything is missing or loose. Go all the way back to where you think was the end and look around. Put it all back together and try again.
* Okay NOW I remember this machine! It's on youtube BUT I'm cringing as I watch it! Really don't like this machine (Sorry) I had 15 come into the shop and only got 3 to work. Way too many sensors and safeties. I still got an old one in the garage that worked for a month then stopped for no reason. Okay here is the link Good luck!

SOURCE: Saeco Vienna gear jammed

This has happened to me. If the problem is the brew group gear is in the wrong position, you can manipulate the brew group until it matches up with the drive gear in the machine. You'll know it matches if you can insert the brew group back in the machine full until it clicks.

SOURCE: Saeco Vienna: water does not go through to the main unit

I had the same problem and got on the Saeco US website and talked to an online support person. She downloaded me a couple of pages of "fixes", I tried them and they worked! You have to take the two screws out of the brew group, remove the spring and a little clear plastic ball. Then clean out the hole thoroughly. I stuck a toothpick up into it from underneath to clean out the coffee that was stuck in the hole. I then put it back together and now it works perfectly.

SOURCE: need to take out brew group jammed

Hi
Look on the left side where the box should be. In the left side towards the botton there is a long opening. Take plastic knife and slide it in while the machine is on and blinking and see if the brew unit will cycle. The drip tray has to be in for this to work. There is a metal bar that has to be pushed toward the rear of the machine to cycle the brew unit.

SOURCE: Dispensing Failed- Saeco Talea Ring Plus

Try adjusting the grind four numbers coarser and brew a coffee, if you are getting the same result then the brew unit is clogged and the screen needs to be cleaned.

SOURCE: Saeco talea touch - grinds & brews coffee into grounds drawer??

Try this, adjust the grind to a coarser setting atleast 2 numbers, then remove brew unit and look behind at white plastic valve, there is a small chamber under valve make sure chamber is clean and that the small discharge from chamber to drain tray is also clear. Then remove shower screen from brew unit and clean if necessary, also check the tube from the shower. Reinsert and test.

Leaking saeco plus vienna machine

I have had a similar problem. Don't know whether it was the same. Take out the brew group and low behind that is a V-shaped opening, with a small mouth pointing towards the front of the macine.
Take a large paperclip and open this small outlet. Then clean with a wet cloth the V-shaped opening behind it.
Thus MY problem was solved.
From your info it would seem that you already tried this.
Good luck! Bob Hempenius.

I have the superautomatica saeco vienna machine and am tryi8ng to clean the 2 steel filters of the brew group by unscrewing the pin. I find 1 steel screen but not the second one. Where is it?

Hi, looking down into the brew group you see the bottom filter, looking on the side with the piston (o-ring) you see the second metal filter on the bottom of the piston.

Saeco Vienna Digital Expresso Maker - brew group will not line up to fit back into espresso machine

Could be a number of reasons. If you "hear" the brew group moving in one direction, stop and then move again, then the microswitches are o.k. If the sound of the movement is low and/or slow ( slower that normal), the CPU/power board may be bad and needs to be replace. If the movement is as before (same sound and movement) but not lining up, perhaps the brew drive motor is bad.
To remedy this situation, an authorized SAECO Service Center would have to open your machine and replace damaged components. Contact Saeco USA Inc. to located a Service Center near you at 800-933-7876 (toll-free), ask for customer support, or contact SAECO via e-mail at : [email protected]

Problem getting a Full Cup of Coffee

besides descaling you need to lube the brew group, especially the bit that accepts the group nozzle. You might have a leaking boiler too, 6 years is pretty good for a vienna.

Remove the brew group and look for the two red o-rings on teh brass bit, smear some lube on it, they might need replacing by now, but luckily they aren't too expensive and readily available albeit a bit tricky to install, a good light and some patience is very important.
