Color Laserjet 3600 getting a 13.20.00 error after Maint. Kit installation

Yes you will probably have to replace the fuser. If this is a new printer still under warranty and the page count has not reached the service life of the fuser, contact HP for warranty replacement. Once the new fuser in installed you will need to restore the service count.

Restoring the maintenance count after installing new fuser.

This printer tracks the number of pages printed on the fuser, and a reminder message will appear when the fuser reaches a certain page count. The message will instruct you to replace your fuser. Whenever you install a new fuser, you should reset the fuser page count so the warning message will not appear prematurely.

To reset the fuser count :
1. Press MENU to enter the MENUS.
2. Press Down arrow to highlight Configure Device.
3. Press Checkmark to select Configure Device.
4. Press Down arrow to highlight RESETS.
5. Press Checkmark to select RESETS.
6. Press Down arrow to highlight RESET SUPPLIES.
7. Press Checkmark to select RESET SUPPLIES.
8. Press Down arrow to highlight NEW FUSER KIT.
9. Press Down arrow to select NEW FUSER KIT.
10. Press Down arrow to highlight YES.
11. Press Checkmark to select YES.

The fuser count will be reset and then the printer is ready to use.

if you are referring to the pickup rollers.. depending on how old the printer is , you will have to replace the rollers (inexpensive, see second link for cost) . the first link will help you further (maintanance, rpelacement)

If you are using from last two years then pls replace the maint kit for long life & better print quality.Hp is not providing the teflon & in market you cann't get origional one.

Kindly check the Maint Count in the Configuration Menu by turning off the printer, then pressing and holding the Select and the Return buttons while turning on the printer. Select Maint Count Value. If it reached 300,000, maintenance kit should be replaced. If it's below 300,000, fuser and redrive may need to be replaced.

The maintenance kit needs to touch contacts to reset it.

There is a camshaft 020K14800 which may be cracked and therefore doesn't position these contacts. I suggest replacing this.

The maint kit resets the counter when it is installed. You may have gotten a bad maint kit or the black plasstic part that the roller slides into is bad. That is where the connection is to reset the counter.

To get the machine error code
Get into maint mode
Within 2 seconds hit:
menu,*,2,8,6,4
This will put you in maint mode.
Press 82
This will give you the machine error code.
Press stop/exit
press 99 to exit maint mode.
Let us know what the machine error is.

Hi: Its the Maint light. That's what it says - maint and it is amber in color. I'm the original owner and the car has had its regular scheduled maint since new.
