Have you upgraded to newer version of windows? Have you tried reinstalling Paperport? (back up max files 1st) I have had a visioneer and still use Paperport 8. Often I have problems with Windows 8 and reinstall paperport now and then.

I have paperport 9.0 and I can't get it to work with Windows 7 which I just installed.

PaperPort 9 is not supported for Win7. You need to upgrade your product or use a Virtual computer running a different OS. PaperPort 10 is being tested with Win7. PaperPort 11.2 and PaperPort 12 are fully supported under Win7. (My household has PaperPort 11. It doesn't work consistently with Win7 and a generic Win7 driver for an older scanner.)

With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you have the option of downloading and installing the XP mode. (This actually takes two downloads.) Once you are running the virtual XP computer, you can install the PaperPort 9 and the scanner (if you want to capture the files from there). To share images with the real computer, files may need to be stored to external media. Hardware can only be installed to one "computer" and you will be prompted to uninstall the device from the other computer.

Scansoft paperport 10 keeps loading every time i switch on

Check the Startup folder in the Start menu. If it is there, simply delete the entry there. Otherwise you can use "msconfig" from the Start Run menu to control the startup programs and disable paperport.
