i was having the same problem and just got off of the phone with tech support who fixed the problem for me,

go into system preferences
print and fax

there you should see the printer cx8400.

remove the printer by clicking on the - sign.

then re add the printer, by clicking the +

the computer will search for the drivers and install them.

SOURCE: Epson R2400 too red

If you are encountering a red or magenta cast when printing from Photoshop, please try the following changes in the driver and color profiles.
1. Open image in Photoshop. If Photoshop prompts you with an "Embedded profile mismatch" message indicating that the image's color space does not match the working color space, DO NOT convert the image or discard the information. Choose to USE the embedded information, otherwise important data about the colors in your image will be lost.
2. Go to FILE, PRINT (WITH) PREVIEW. (PRINT OPTIONS in Photoshop6.) Check SHOW MORE OPTIONS. Instead of OUTPUT use the pull-down arrow to select COLOR MANAGEMENT.
-If printing in color, SOURCE SPACE should be an RGB format of some sort, ie "untagged RGB" or "sRGB". It may also reflect the profile used by the image's source, for example a digital camera or scanner ("sRGBie####").
-If printing in black and white, SOURCE SPACE should be a greyscale or black and white format.
-PRINT SPACE should be a profile that most closely matches the printer name to paper in use and cartridge loaded, for example:
"SP2200 Premium Luster PK" (PK = photo black ink. MK = matte black.)
"SP820 Photo Paper"
"EPSON Stylus Photo 960"
"SPR300 Prem Glossy"
-INTENT can be either Perceptual or Relative Colorimetric. (Experimentation will tell you which looks best. More details on the exact technical differences between these settings is available in Photoshop' HELP menu.)
3. Go to PAGE SETUP. Ensure your printer name is selected.
In OS 9.x or any Windows version, click PROPERTIES to view the printer's current driver settings. In PROPERTIES, configure the following:
-select Custom mode, then click the Advanced button. Turn printer driver's color management OFF here by selecting "No color adjustment".
-Pick appropriate output resolution, DPI, paper type and paper size in use.
-If printing black and white images with the SP2200, ensure color ink mode is selected.
In OS X, go the PRINT menu. Under "Print settings" be sure the appropriate paper type and dpi are selected.
-Under "Color Management" there should be a dot beside "No color adjustment".
Regardless of operating system, do not use the "Print Preview" from the Epson printer driver as you have the Photoshop preview window to work with.
You are now ready to print.

SOURCE: How do you make the Epson CX8400 wireless

Hi there,

You need a wireless printer server, like this.

Make and model of your own choice, as I do not know any specific model.

SOURCE: Can't print to Epson CX8400

I had the exact same problem with the endless blank pages "printing" out.  I have a MacBook Air with OSX 10.5.6.
Before I got a chance to try and delete and reinstall all the drivers all over again, my phone call was answered by a very helpful lady from Epson's support line US: 562-276-4382.
Here's how easy it was to fix: Go into Apple System Preferences, click Printer & Fax. HOLD CONTROL while clicking on the printer on the left side of the screen.  When you HOLD CONTROL, it allows you to choose the option to "Reset Printers".
Click "Reset Printers", and you will see them all disappear.  Simply plug in your CX8400 and click the plus button to add new printer.  It will search for the driver for you if you have an internet connection.  It worked for me on the first try and took only about 2 minutes total!!!!
I'd wasted so much time installing drivers and screwing with the printer before this.  Save your time for things that make you happy!  Share help when you can!

SOURCE: Epson CX8400 ink cartridges run out early

Epson gives you a miserable 12 ml of ink. Then it reports empty when there is still 10-15% of the ink left. I saw someone set up a brand new CX8400, print a single 4x6 photo and it said he was out of cyan. I use reusable cartridges from http://www.ccs-digital.com They hold 20 ml, which is 2/3 more ink. The chips automatically reset to full if you take the cartridge out and put it back in, so you get to use every drop. The ink is in a separate container inside the main cartridge. When it's really empty, you pop out the ink tank and pop in a new one. The tanks are under $3 each. I think this is brilliant because it's like refilling only it avoids the risks and mess of refills.

Wireless printing

you need to set the ip on the printer to within the ip range of your wireless router. Then you need to install a mac book pro driver for the canon i960 on the Mac Pro. THe mac pro should then automatically detect the printer and hook up to it

Run a Printer Check A printer check will help you determine if the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series is operating properly. 1. Turn off the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series and your computer, if connected. 2. Disconnect any connected USB cables. 3. Load plain paper in the sheet feeder. 4. Press Setup. 5. Select Maintenance and press OK. 6. Select Nozzle Check and press OK. 7. Press cx7400_cx8400_ug.1.109.1.jpg Start. 8. The Epson Stylus CX8400 Series begins printing the nozzle check pattern. • If the page prints, your Epson Stylus CX8400 Series is operating. Can I set up a wireless connection between my laptop & printer?

You would attach the printer to the desktop pc and share it out with Sharing & Security. Once your wireless laptop is connected to same network, you will need to go to Start => Printers and Faxes
Then, click Add Printer, then select Network Printer and hit Next. Hit next again and it will look for any printers on the network. Depending on your os and setup, printer should be in the list. Once it is found, highlight it and press Next > and follow the remaining two prompts, finally hit finish. Reply back if you are having a problem setting it up and I can furthe assist you and/or logon remotely to watch or give a hand. - Dan Maresca Jr
