then it will at other times say to refesh database. that also erases all the songs.what do i do to stop this .i know there is some settings to change , but i don't know what they are. Thanks for your help

If you downloaded your music for a service such as Rhapsody, \Napster, etc, and let your subscriptino lapse, it will give you this message.

Also, if you ripped songs from a CD, and selected the option to add media usage rights (it is unchecked by default), it added an unwanted license to the player that will give you problems such as these. If this is the case, right-click the song, select Properties, and look at the Media Usge Rights/License/or other similar tab and deselect the license (if it will let you). If it doesn't allow you to deselect the license, you will have to redownload the songs. Songs in mp3 format are the best, and you will not give you such headaches.

Trying to synch my SanDisk MP3 player to Rhapsody

This player is a little goofy. The normal method to synchronize is through Windows Media Player. But if you go for the Rhapsody subscription, you have to also sync the device through Rhapsody.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription

it's asking that you verify the DRM status (i.e., that you bought it and it resides on YOUR computer.) It cannot play the file until you synchronize it with windows media player. You can delete them off of the MP3 player just by noting which songs don't play and deleting them through windows explorer when the player is connected.
