Fuser unit error

Hi pauls,
I feel confident you can do this, but it will really be a gray area for you since I assume you are not factory trained. Hang on to my belt loop and I will you pull you thru the mess. We will fix this. First of all, if you did not unplug the machine from the wall (you didn't) you wind up here. But I will help you. The first thing we need to do is power the device up. Now,at this point I will merely familliarize you with the buttons we be using as we will enter "SERVICE MODE". *NOTE* we will be careful, so follow my instructions carefully. For now, merely locate the yellow "CLEAR/STOP" button located at the top right of the control panel just above the 9 key pad. Ok , you will of course see the "0 thru 9 keys" you would use to input the number of copies you might request during normal operation. Then below the 9 key pad and to the right of the start button you will see the reddish orange STOP button to the right of the large green START button. You have now located the buttons we will use to enter service mode and reset the counter for the oil supply unit. Ok, here we go. In a fluid motion press the "CLEAR/STOP" button and release, now press the "1" button release, the "0" button realease, then the "7" button, realease, now hold down the RED STOP button till the screen changes. So CLEAR/STOP,107,Hold down the stop. New screen appears.Press "COPIER".New screen. Notice to the left of this new screen are tabs that are arranged in decending order that I call the "1000" series, the "2000"series, "3000"series and so on.Press the tab that says "7xxx". This of course is the "7000" series. It will start with like 7001. At the top of this screen you will see "SP DIRECT" It might already be highlighted but if not press it.Now we know it is dark blue and the device knows you want to stay in the "7000" series. These are counters and we are going to reset the oil supply counter. Press 7804 on the key pad and then press the # sign located below the 9 key pad. These are the PM counters. Now look in the center of the screen and you will see a block that says"LINE" with an arrow bellow it that points down. This is a slow scroll thru all the counters you can reset.Scroll down till you see 7804 (this will take a bit) and it will actually say 7804-10 (OIL SUPPLY).Press it and when you do will see a screen to the right That says EXECUTE? Press execute. You just reset the oil supply counter manually. Unplug the device now. Wait 5 secs and plug it back in. You may need to review these steps but if you followed it all with me, I have put the "FIXYA" on YA !!!! Let me know if I did ok. Its kinda hard to walk folks thru what took me 23 years to do. But I have faith in you. If I did fix ya, please yet "FIXYA" know. Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
