Error Message: "The print cartridge cradle cannot move"

The paper only spools half way then the above error message appears. I have taken out the print cartridges and checked them, as well as, inspect the paper rollers for any paper obstructions.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

How do I fix e07

I assume you have a Canon copier based on the E007 error code. The Fuser fixing film is torn and the Fixing film assembly or the entire fuser should be replaced. Very common issue.......You cannot reset that code without first replacing the part causing the code.

Printer mechnical error

Resolving a blinking light When an error occurs, the power light will blink continuously and an error message will appear on the computer screen. Read the onscreen error message explaining the problem and follow its solution. If no error message appears, go to the Maintenance section in the Printer Assistant and click any of the four main buttons. This will prompt the software to check the status of the printer and the error message should then appear. The following table lists possible causes and what to do to correct the problem. Symptom Possible cause What to do to correct the problem Power light is blinking Printer cover is open Close the cover. Printer is out of paper Insert appropriate media in the In tray. Printer has difficulty picking up label media
  • Change the printers print mode setting.
  • Change the printer's paper type selection.
  • Use a different brand of label media.
There is a paper jam Follow each of these steps until the problem is resolved:

  1. Remove the paper from both paper trays.
  2. Press the Power button once. Wait a moment for the paper jam to clear.
  3. If printing labels, verify that a label did not become detached while passing through the printer. If the paper jam was not resolved, continue on to the next steps.
  4. Remove the rear access door.
  5. Remove the paper jam through the opening at the back of the printer.
  6. Replace the rear access door.
  7. Reload the paper into the paper In tray.
  8. Print the document.
There is a problem with a print cartridge Follow each of these steps until the problem is resolved:

  1. Remove and then reinsert the print cartridge(s) into the printer.
  2. Clean the print cartridges automatically using the Clean Cartridges option in the Printer Assistant.
  3. Manually clean the print cartridges and print cartridge cradles:
    • Open the printer cover and wait until the carriage moves to the center.
    • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
    • Disconnect power cord from the back of the printer.
    • Remove the print cartridges and place them on a piece of paper with the nozzle plate facing up.
    • Lightly moisten a cotton swab with distilled water.
    • Clean the face and edges of the print cartridges with the swab. Do not touch the print cartridge ink nozzles or copper contacts.
    • Wipe the underside of the print cartridge cradle walls using a clean, moistened swab.
    • Reinsert the print cartridges.
    • Close the printer cover.
    • Connect the power cord to the back of the printer.
    • Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
  4. Calibrate the print cartridges.
  5. If the light is still flashing, replace the print cartridges.
Power light is blinking and/or there are missing lines or banding issues on the printout The print cartridge has partial loss of electrical interface with the carriage connections
  1. Print a printer self-test by holding the power button down with a pencil and opening and closing the top cover four times.
  2. Check the nozzle self-test pattern in the self-test print out. If one or more of the solid rectangular areas are missing, an electrical contact problem may be present.
  3. Remove and then reinsert the print cartridge(s) into the printer.
  4. Print the document.
  5. If the problem persists, follow the steps listed above for cleaning the print cartridges and print cartridge cradle.
  6. Try printing again. If the problem continues, replace the print cartridges.

Even thought there is NO paper jam, I still get an error message:

Please try this solution :

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Print cartridge cradle is stuck ican't find where it is jammed

This might help . . . Mine finished printing one doc & then made a terrible noise & sent a message to my screen that "print cartridge cradle is stuck." When i opened door, i could see it was stuck off to the left side so left cartridge was obscured. I could not get it to budge, although i kept turning it off, gently pushing & turning it back on. Finally, i got my hand inside & determined that the little door to the left-side cartridge had popped open & was causing it to remain stuck. After some struggles (turn off printer first!) i was able to maneuver it around & close it tight. Now, all is well . . .

Problem The following error message appears on the LCD panel on top of the printer after you insert a cartridge: Press enter to align cartridges . You press Enter , but the error message does not go away. The printer will not print. Solution To bypass the cartridge alignment, do the following:
  1. Press and hold the Setup button.
  2. Press the Options button. The printer should be ready to print.
If the print quality is unacceptable after bypassing alignment, follow the steps below until the error is corrected. Step 1 - Check the paper Make sure the printer is loaded with clean, unused, white paper. If the paper is not feeding properly, check the paper path. For information about how to do that, see the instructions under "If the paper does not feed correctly" at the end of this document. Step 2 - Remove and inspect the cartridges
NOTE: The "problem" cartridge is the cartridge indicated by the error message.
  1. Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
  2. Press down lightly on the top of the ink cartridge latch and pull the lower section of the latch out to release the cartridge. Figure 1: Removing the cartridge c00143341.gif

HP 7660 "Print Cartridge Cradle is Stuck" Message

I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.

Hope that helps!

Mechanism Error - Print Cradle won't move! - HP 5650

This "plastic strip" is called the "carriage encoder strip". This strip dictates the timing of the carriage assembly. If the end slots aren't broken, you can re-attach it. Otherwise, you'll need to replace it. They are about $10.
