Installing OKI c3400n in Windows 7 32 bit

The c3400n does not have its own wireless capability. It must be connected to a wireless print server or to some wired network that has a wireless access point (WAP) connected to it. A third option is to use a home-networking wireless router.

Individual PCs must have wireless capability also, or they can't print over wireless.

Somewhere along the line the printer must get a local network IP address, i.e. 192.168.0.102. PCs usually use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to get an IP address.

But printers are usually manually set to a 'static' IP, because static IPs don't change over time.

Usually there is a security device called a 'firewall' to protect the wired network from unwanted wireless traffic.

So, you first require some form of wireless access.

The people who require wireless printing capability must have their computers configured to make an association to the WAP. Usually requires a passkey or password, depending on the wireless security method.

A port on the firewall must be forwarded to the port used by whichever network-printing protocol is being used to communicate with the printer. There are several possible protocols.

The printer must be set to an IP address unique within the private subnet, i.e. 192.168.0.0/16, used by the local network.

PC-based network-connected devices use IP (Internet Protocol) addressing, i.e. xyz.zxy.yzx.xzy

The printer must be connected to a network switch that is in some way accessible to the WAP. Residential/SOHO (Small Office Home Office) setups use a combination switch/router device, called simply: a router.

Most of the above is done automatically, but there are some set-up tasks that require user intervention. Electronic devices know how to configure everything, after they are given proper parameters.

All you need to do is check the above items. If the printer is found by MS Windows 'searching for network printers', the hard part is done. Then you just tell Windows to use the network printer.

Hp printer says to press the WPS button on the router. What's that?

  • Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a standard for easy and secure wireless network set up and connections.
  • WPS lets you use push buttons or PINS instead of entering a network name (SSID) and wireless security by hand.
  • Push button: The WPS button is either on the product or a clickable button on a wizard or utility screen.
  • Personal Identification Number (PIN): The PIN is either on a product label or can be viewed on a wizard or utility screen. The PIN is entered for either the router or access point, or for the wireless device that wants to join the network.

How to retrieve password from wireless access point router zyxel -570u

Initial Set-Up
Plug your wireless router into the cable connection in your wall. Plug the connection cord into the "WAN" port on the router. Plug the router's power source into the wall and turn the router on. Connect your wireless access point to your router by pushing one end of an Ethernet cord into the WAP. Push the other end of the Ethernet cord into the "LAN" port on the router. The WAP connects your wireless devices to your router.
Connect your laptop or computer to the WAP. Click the "Start" button on your computer and then click "Control Panel." Click "Network and Internet" and then select "Network and Sharing Center." The "Network and Sharing Center" window opens.
Click "Set up a wireless router or access point." Click the "Next" button.
Follow the prompts to create a wireless pass phrase or security key. Write the key down in a safe location to ensure access later, if required.

I have bought an Epson Artisan 835 printer & can't get it to connect wirelessly to a Billion Router (BiPAC 7300G).This router is connected wirelessly to my i-Mac. I currently have the printer...

1) Please check your router setup whether it does not allow Wireless devices to ping against each other;
2) If it does not allow to ping (communicate) with each other, please disable it first.
3) Then please check your Epson wireless setup whether the DHCP function is enabled; if not, please enable it;
4) Please also input your network gateway, sub-net mask correctly into the Epson printer, otherwise the wireless communication with your network will not work.
5) Then switch off your printer and turn on again to recognize the new settings; and it should work

I lost my CD

You can reset your Netgear router/wireless MR814 router to the factory settings from within the router manager. The reset procedure removes all user-configured settings and returns the router to the original factory settings.

For this reason, only reset the router if you encounter problems that can't be solved with other methods.

Step 1: Check that your Netgear router/wireless MR814 router is properly connected with your system or not. If it is OK, then press reset button on Netgear router for at least 10 seconds. The 'test' light should flash during this process.

Step 2: Now open browser and enter Netgear's IP address into the address bar. Generally, '192.168.0.1' is the Netgear router IP address but you can find specific IP address in Netgear router manual.

Step 3: Now enter your default username and password to log in to router.

Step 4: Click 'Erase' button under the 'Revert to Factory Default Settings'. This process will erase all your previous changes that have been made to the router and restore the configuration settings to factory setting. Don't interrupt the process until the process is finished.

Once the router's 'test' light has stopped blinking and the configuration page you are on has refreshed, the router has been reset.
