the unit just only hang.. what you have to do is to unplug the unit within 5 mins.then after 5mins.try to plug it again..and your lynksys would be good again and ready fo your calls.. :)

WRT-54G is outdated and obsolete. It is also prone to being hacked.

If you mean not connecting to the internet. It could be because of incorrect internet settings or possibly the router was reset to factory default settings. If that's the case then all you need to do is access the router's user interface from any device connected to the router's network whether via wired or wireless connection, from any web browser by typing the default router's IP address which is 192.168.1.1, and you'll be prompted to enter the username and password which should be "admin" for both by default. in case you're unable to access the page for an incorrect password then you need to reset and reconfigure the router again. I have update the fireware of linksys router WRT54G ver.2.2 by wireless.. Wrong move.. Then it stop loading.. now I can not get in to the router even i reset the router.. what can i do to have it back..

This seems to be a symptom of a configuration error, which can be fixed by resetting the router to factory default. Do this by finding the (often partially hidden) reset button on the device, and pressing and holding down the button, with the power on, till lights start flashing on the router. Let go of the button and allow the router to reset (can take a minute or two). You will now have reset the router to factory default. To connect to your ISP, you'll need to enter your account details (and any other specific information) provided to you by your ISP. You will also have to set a name and password for the wifi section of your router (if it has wifi) if you don't want it to be freely accessible by everyone within wifi range.

The Problem is all Lan port light are solid and power light is dim. And you hear a very low hizzz noise from the router.

Solution is

I Fixed it with a new 470uf 10v cap ps its the one next to the circle copper wrapped wire than CS29 is written next to it.

Just replace it and it will start work again.

Disconnect the power to it, wait 5 minutes and power back on.

I have moved and lost my CD to my Cisco "Linksys" wireless-G model WRT54GS please tell me how I can download the disk from somewhere???Joyce
