  • Open Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig/all' and hit Enter. Check Default Gateway, it should be 192.168.1.1, your Netgear device's IP address.

  • If you are still unable to browse the Internet, ping your router's connection to the PC. Open Command Prompt, type 'ping 192.168.1.1', hit Enter. If your PC is receiving connection from your Netgear device, you will see a message like Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes etc. If there is no connection, you may see the Request timed out message.

  • The Request timed out error can occur due to two things: (1). incorrect physical connection between your Netgear device and the PC or (2) incorrect wireless network setup & configuration. Recheck and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the Netgear device. Also reinstall the TCP/IP stack and update Netgear device driver software.

  • When done, check back if you can browse the Internet or not. If the problem persists, hard reset your Netgear wireless router

I understand that you were not able to get help with the previous solution.

Here is a way to reset the router
Look behind the router where the cables are connected
You will find a hidden button which is the reset button
Push and hold it for 1min using a paper clip

Then follow this link to get help to update the settings on the router

Wpn824NA Not working

Hello.
If the test light on the router stays on after 20 seconds, even after turning off the router and back on it stays lit, it means the router has a problem.
What you can try to do is reset the router to factory settings:1. With the router powered on, hold down the reset button on the back of the router for 20 seconds until the test light on the fron panel turns on.2. Release the reset button and wait for the router to restart and become stable.
If the test light does not stay on anymore, the router should be ok, you need to set it up again though.
Hope this helps. Glad to be of service.

I have a netgear wna3100 wireless adapter and have been trying to install it. I have ran the netgear CD that came with the package, but once it gets to the stage of detecting adapter and I plug in the...

You can manually access the routher by typing 192.168.1.1 into the web browser once it has connected to the internet. You then can set up wireless access points and set a WEP, etc for security. This would also allow your adaptor to connect to the router once you have set everything up. The default username and pass for routers is usally: User: admin ...password: password

You have lost your connectivity between modem and router.

Be sure you always start your network in this sequence:

1. Turn off and unplug the modem from the power outlet. Next, turn off the wireless router
and computer.

2. Turn on the modem and wait 2 minutes.

3. Turn on the wireless router and wait 1 minute.

4. Turn on the computer.

If this does not work, come back to your post let me know and we will try a full reset.

All lights come on and stay on when plugged in.

Try to reset the router.
If the problem is still there even after the manual reset, then i guess that you will need a replacement unit.

HI! if reseting the router wont work by reseting it while its on.. do the hard reset, how? press the reset button while power is on and then after 10secs, unplug the power on the back of the router for 2secs and plug in while the reset button is still press, press it for 15secs.. then release.. leave it unplug for 10secs and plug in. if this issue wont fix, try to download the latest firmware for the router and upgrade the firmware.. after download is done, connect the router to ur computer and access the setup page of the router and do the upgrade..

Netgear wgr614v6 factory settings

If this is on the router itself, cycle the power first. If still no good, then clear the router's configuration to factory defaults. This will set the routers ip address to 192.168.1.1. You should have the manual and this will be on page 7-7 if not check out the link below
