I'm using the NetGear WNA 3100 Adapter wizard.

If your wi-fi router is supplied by your internet service provider (they may call it a "gateway") then you can ask their tech support for advice in resolving the issue. If you have your own router you may want to start by power cycling everything. Unplug the power cord from your modem, your router, and shutdown your computer (shutdown, not sleep!). Wait about 15 or 20 seconds then plug in the power cord for the modem. Now, wait about one minute for the modem to fully boot up and settle down. Next, plug in the power cord to the router and wait 30 seconds to a minute for it to fully boot up and settle down. Next, turn on your computer and wait for it to fully boot up and settle down. Try connecting to wi-fi again. If it doesn't work, move on to the next step: Open Control Panel/Device manager. Locate "Network adapters' in the list and select the Netgear adapter. A dialog box opens. In the Netgear adapter dialog box select "Uninstall this device" and click on Yes/OK. Restart the computer and wait a minute or so while Windows re-installs the adapter. Now try connecting to wi-fi again. If that fails, you can try resetting your router to its factory default settings: Your wireless router has a tiny pinhole somewhere on the rear panel or on one end. It should be labeled "Reset". Bend open a paperclip, push the pointy end of the paperclip firmly into the pinhole and hold it there for 10 or 15 seconds. This will reset the wi-fi router to its default settings. Now, you can set up a fresh password on the router and sign in using the new password on your computer.

I have a Netgear WNA3100

What model is the laptop...how old is it? Is it supposed to have USB2 Enhanced Host Controller? Copy and paste the following into Notepad and save the file as "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices.cmd" w/o quotes. ------------------------ Start at line below ------------------------ @echo off set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 start devmgmt.msc echo. echo In Device Manager, select "View" from the Menu echo and then select "Show Hidden Devices". echo. pause ------------------------ Stop at line above ------------------------ Run the created script file and follow the instructions displayed on the command prompt screen about View > Show Hidden Devices when the Device Manager opens. Look for any problem devices and in "Universal Serial Bus controllers" for "USB2 Enhanced Host Controller" that might be grayed out. If you find any then try to update their drivers. If it's there and not grayed out then there is another issue. If it's not there then it must be too old for USB 2.0 or it's been completely uninstalled, try to find a USB2 Enhanced Host Controller for your laptop if your sure it supports USB 2.0. I have seen Windows not automatically install native USB drivers before when they were uninstalled...or was that an Ethernet controller...I forget.

What is the meaning of 'Netgear don't support WPA/WPA2 Radius security (802.1x)?.

What it says WPA protocol for wireless is not available. So you have to use WEP (an older protocol).

Internet has become ridiculously slow over wifi

Unfortunately so many things can interfere with wireless technology - Microwaves, Electricity Cords, Computers, Etc. Unfortunately wireless also struggles to travel through floors and certain types of walls etc. It may be the floor, combined with the distance from the router, as well as the electrostatic field that the electricity wiring in your house may start up. Best thing to do would be to wire up an extender upstairs and you should be out to extend your wireless signal, and get a good download speed.

Reset password

Provided this is your home network, you can log in to the router the adapter is connecting to and change the wifi password for the network. You will then need to enter the new password on the adapter and all other devices that connect via wifi to the router. If you are using this for a business contact your IT Dept.

I have installed it onto

In order to do that you would have to plug this into your xbox 360, not your computer. HOWEVER, Microsoft only supports their own wireless adapter for the xbox 360 .... this one: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter-Networks/dp/B000B6MLV4

I have also heard that wireless gaming can have lesser results. But if you want to do Xbox Live wireless, you will have to have a router and Microsoft's XBOX wifi adapter shown in the link above.

To connect to Xbox live, your best bet is to (if you dont have one) get a router, connect it to your Internet modem, and plug it into the xbox 360 using an ethernet cable.
