It just started today that I turned on my camera and was zooming in on a shot and my camera shut off.. I assumed that it was the battery and replaced it with a charged one and still did the samething....so we refreshed both batteries and still the same... at first you could get alittle zoom now just touching the zoom it's off...What should I do... it's fine in review mode but not in camera mode....
Hello:
I contacted Canon about this same issue in my Elura 65, and they said to send it to them, they would have their techs investigate the cause and then contact me with the costs to make the repairs. They said that if I didn't want them to repair the problem, after I found out the cost, that they would reassemble the camera and send it back.
Mine is out of warranty, even with buying it at Costco, who doubles the warranty time. In my researching the problem, I have found another person with the same problem who had it repaired for something like $175. I will weigh that against purchasing a newer model.
Someone else did reccommend wacking in on the top a few times, shutting if off and turning it back on, and that would often fix the problem. I don't want to take the chance of ruining an important shot that may not come around again, by having to Indian Leg Wrestle my camera to get it to work. Best wishes.

I have the exact same problem. I will never buy another Kodak camera again.
