My Dell AIO 924 printer will not feed paper.

When I try to print from my Dell 924 printer it makes the noise like it wants to grab the paper, but it will not feed the paper. Any solutions?

1.Check inside the printer to see if you have the ink properly installed.
2.Make sure you don't you re-use papers that you have already used.
3.All papers have to be perfectly allined.
4.Check the connection wires between the computer and the printer.
5.Scan your computer with a security system to catch and eliminate viruses, tracking cookies etc.
If all else fails I don't know what to say

SOURCE: Paper won't feed and get's stuck

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

Good luck..

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

SOURCE: printer does not "grab" paper but can see parts turning

you have bad rollers. you can try to clean the roller with an alchohol wipe but I doubt it will help much. You need to have the roller replaced or get a new printer

Missing lines of print

hello
You either have to change the ink cartridge or try to clean the ink cartridge nozzles as described in the user manual;
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/924/en/om_en/om_en.pdf
On page 54 it states the following:

To clean the ink cartridge nozzles:
1 Load plain paper. For more information, see "Loading Paper" on page 19.
2 In Windows XP, click Start-Control Panel-Printers and Other Hardware-Printers and
Faxes.
In Windows 2000, click Start-Settings-Printers.
3 Right-click the Dell Photo AIO Printer 924 icon.
4 Click Printing Preferences.
The Printing Preferences dialog box opens.
5 Click the Maintenance tab.
6 Click Clean Print Cartridges.
7 If the print quality has not improved, click Print Again.
8 Print your document again to verify the improved print quality.
9 If you are not satisfied with the print quality, wipe the ink cartridge nozzles, and then print
your document again.

hope this helps.

Paper keeps misfeeding in Dell AIO 924

I first wonder if you have children. if so, then open the lid and/ or look in the paper feed area for plastic tools, band aids, etc. (worked in tech support and once had a gerbil stuck in a printer by it's tail! OUCH!)

if you can't see anything, then take a letter sized piece of poster board and try to run it through, that should clear any foreign debris (such as paper clips or pieces of post-it notes that you may not be able to see) good luck!

Paper does not feed

Try feeding a post card or a different kind of paper thru the feeder tray, make sure that it is going in smoothly.

Try something innovative for checking out those rollers

Paper will not feed all the through the printer

I had the same problem with my Dell 924 and after EXTENSIVE research I found a forum where about 90 percent of the people with the same problem ultimately found some sort of foreign object in the printer. I spent about 30 minutes shaking my printer to no avail then I broke out the flashlight and started looking in every nook and cranny. I lifted up on of the small black plates on the roller towards the back of the printer (if you're looking in the front) and low and behold I saw something that looked odd. Grabbed some tweezers and fished out an allergy pill in a little bubble pack. Was wedged in there to good to fall out from the shaking. Take a piece of card stock or photo paper and try to feed it through the printer manually. If starting at the top, take note of where the paper stops and that should be where your problem is. Try feeding from the top and the bottom, if the paper will not feed through, something is in it's way. Hope this helps.

Dell 924 all in one will not print magenta

run a nozzle clean, perform the following steps:
  1. Verify the All-In-One Printer 924 is powered on and connected to a computer.
  2. Verify that the paper support (input tray) has clean, plain white paper loaded.
  3. Press the Menu button.
  4. Press the Down button until Mode: Maintenance appears on the LCD screen.
  5. Press the Menu button.
The Dell 924 Maintenance Menu appears on the LCD screen.
  6. Press the Down button until Clean Cartridges appears on the LCD screen.
  7. Press the Start button.
The AIO 924 prints the cleaning page. This process cleans the ink cartridges and resolves many print quality issues.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Dell 924 all in one printer problem

Try cleaning the rubber rollers for the paper pick up, there may be some paper fibers on them, and they are not grabbing the paper properly. Use a damp lint free cloth and whipe them, or rubber roller cleaner.
