It could be a issue with the display... If you have a external monitor try to connect the external monitor and check if the display is working fine in the external monitor.. If it works well you need to replace the LCD screen.. If its not working or you dont have a monitor it could be a hardware issue call up the computer manufacturer or get in touch with a local tech...
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague http://www.badcaps.net
The problem can be bad capacitors in the power supply, look for bad caps with bulging tops or seal, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further. To have it repiared by the repair shop will not be practical, est $60~70 repair bill.
If you've connected an external monitor to your computer and the image is coming up fine then that means your video card on the motherboard is good.
The only other parts it could be is the LCD Flex cable that connects to the LCD screen to the motherboard, the LCD Inverter that powers the LCD screen or the LCD screen itself. Usually you can find a used screen that is complete with all those components on ebay.
IT sounds like the monitor got fried.. sometimes if the monitor is in the on position as the power comes back, the monitor gets an unexpected sure which can sometime damage the circuitry. You may be out of luck. You're only other option is to try using the monitor on another computer to see if it's just a weird connection issue.
Hi...there,
It's turns blue to power safe mode (yellow) it's prevent futher damaged to your monitor. It's seems you got a busted backlight inverter. Need to replaced a new one...Since you only got it for a few months, send it back to Acer for a replacement of a new backlight inverter... Have a nice day!
Sorry to have to tell you this, but this is common in LCD monitors. The reason that it is going black when it boots is for one of two reasons. You either have a bad power supply that powers your LCD or your LCD's backlight is blown. These can be repaired or you can purchase a new one. But if it goes black 9 times out of 10 is because the backlight is bad. These can be repaired!
