'Shadows' behind all texts and images on the screen
LCD Monitor Shadow Effect
This problem is best described as the LCD monitor "Shadow Effect".
The solution to this very simple. No software or hard ware changes required.
The cables that are connected to the LCD monitors are causing the problem. Its also called as electromagnetic noise or electrical noise.
Solution: Keep the two cables - (power cable and moitor display cable), that are connected to the LCD monitor as far away as possible with each other and also away from other electrical cables.
Thats it. Your shadow effect is fixed.
Thank you.
RED COLOUR ALL OVER SCREEN
this sounds like a problem with either the screen or, more likely, the graphics chip. If you can't replace the graphics chip (if it's not on a separate removable card), I'm afraid you'll need to bin it and buy a new machine. The acer logo is displayed before the graphics drivers or windows has started.
Blue hue on screen
Try a different known working monitor on the vga port of your laptop. If the replacement monitor works then you definitely know its a problem with your original monitor. If the replacement monitor shows the same blue hue then you know the vga port is bad on the laptop which would mean replacing the motherboard since its connected to the laptop.
Acer 2016W - When powered
Yep,
When the capacitors start to go out it causes the power supply to not provide the correct voltages. You monitor has the back light power but the 5v power going to the video driver board is not working correctly. Here is a link to a repair guide that will show you how to open the unit, remove the power supply board and what capacitors need to be replaced.

Inspect the power supply/inverter for bad caps with domed tops first.

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

James, After you view some video clips at YOUTUBE of owners / technicians replacing bad (failed) electrolytic filter capacitors on their power supply boards, you can tell me if you think you can do the work or will be better off contracting out the work ($40 to $60)??? Cheaper if you do the work!!!
My AL2016w screen get yellow/green
Might have to see iff this ffault is due to faulty solder joints on the main board.
you must remove and make a quick solder job of all the suspected joints, make sure the connectors to the display are tight.
If not the convergence section must be checked out
