SOURCE: printer canon mp810 displaying 5020 error

Hi
This maybe a small bit of paper in the rollers somewhere you need to find it or it is need of a good clean.

You can also try this.

Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

How to remove cartridges when no power

The printer needs power to remove the cartridges. There is an assembly that moves and locks the cartridges and covers the ink nozzles to prevent the ink from drying out. Without power this assembly is locked in place and will not release.

Canon Scanner Error

Possible Causes:

1. Faulty communication between the scanner and the computer
2. Insufficient power to the scanner

Solution:

1. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable from both the scanner and the computer.
2. Ensure that the USB cable is connected directly to the computer as opposed to connecting through a USB Hub or some other USB device.
3. Restart the computer

You might also try a different USB cable.

If the problem persists after performing the steps listed above, then the unit will most likely require service.
