My sansa mp3 player is stuck on refresh database i tried to put it back in the computer, but its no help. What do I DO?

  • Anonymous Feb 25, 2009

My Sansa was in the middle of playing a song and it just froze. I had transferred a lot of music a few hours previously, but it had been working fine all evening. Plugging it into the computer didn't do anything, and I'm hoping if the batteries drain then I can start it afresh.

With the Sandisk you can just open up the battery compartment and pop the battery out for a second, then if you put it back in and turn the mp3 player on, it should work just fine. This is easier to do with the older ones that take AAA's, but unfortunately with the e250 you need a little screwdriver to remove the battery. (But the other day I used the flat part of a piece of jewelry; you can use whatever you have :D )

If your Sansa becomes frozen or unresponsive, you may need to reset the unit. To do so, simply slide and hold the Power button on the side of the unit. Hold it for about 10 seconds and the player should reset.

The screen is frozen and I cannot play music and i cannot find the reset button

If your Sansa Fuze MP3 player becomes frozen or unresponsive, you may need to reset the unit.
To do so, simply slide and hold the Power button on the side of the unit. Hold it for about 10 seconds and the player should reset.
If this does not work, I recommend plugging the device into a computer, or charger.

Sansa E250 it seems to be frozen

You gotta put your installation cd into the computer and install the Sansa Media Converter. That will put all the pictures and videos on the mp3 player. To get it "unfrozen" just press and hold the power button for 15 to 20 sec.
