Lexmark X2470 Had Paper Jam Now Will Not Load Paper.A Piece was Loose and I need to Know How To Thread It Back In Through The Cartridge.
Hi!
I had a paper jam and pulled the paper out of where it feeds into the printer. I opened the printer up to see if there was any leftover paper but instead found the actual printer cartridge going extremely slow and just acting funny.
Then I see this thin plastic strip loose on one side of the cartridge. It appears to have been threaded through the ink cartridge holder and somehow attached to the sides of the printer. (If that makes sense)
Anyway, without think I just pulled it out to inspect it and now I have no idea where it goes? I turned the printer back on and tried to print without it but it appears this strip of plastic acts to keep tension within the printer cartridge spool because everytime I pushed the ON/OFF button the cartridge would slam against the sides of the printer. (As with before it would stop itself automatically from hitting the side due to this strip.)
Anyway the strip is plastic tinted kind of like a car window except for the two holes on the side which are white and have a black arrow on both sides pointing ^ upwards.
If anyone can look and see where theirs goes that would be great! If anyone can help me please reply!! I really appreciate it!
Lexmark X2470
P.S. There is nothing about this in the user manual.

What is the speed and pattern of the blinking light? If you see a slow blink, then the all-in-one is out of paper (or can't pick up the paper). Add paper and then press the power button. A fast blink indicates a paper jam in the printer. Try automatically ejecting the problem sheet by pressing and holding the power button while you pull the sheet from the paper exit tray. Otherwise, turn off the printer and then manually pull out the paper. Make sure that no ripped pieces remain in the paper route before turning the printer back on.
If the pattern is blink, pause, blink, the printer cartridge carrier either is blocked or a cartridge is missing or improperly installed. Raise the scanner unit and remove anything blocking the cartridge carrier motion. Put in a new cartridge of the correct type (if needed) and make sure that it is properly seated. If needed, try resetting the printer by turning it off. Then disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and then the printer. Reconnect the power cord after waiting a few minutes.
See https://www.manualslib.com/manual/291580/Lexmark-X2470.html?page=60#manual and the following page for the troubleshooting guide. If the printer continues to blink, your printer may need service. If it's under warranty (usually one year), contact Lexmark. If it isn't, decide if the cost of repairs is worthwhile.
Open the back and front door and see the properly a small piece of paper make a error of paper jam, after that move your cartridge panel by hand, and check the cartridge fix properly, if cartridge not fix properly fix the cartridge and try again to print.
Please note that the #2 cartridge is the starter cartridge and the after market cartridge is the #1 cartridge.
The Lexmark X2470 printer uses the #1 cartridge which prints both color and black accordingly. While printing black it uses processed black. Hence, to print color images in "Black Only," please follow the steps given below:
1. Click on "Start," "All Programs," "Lexmark X2470 printer" group and then "Lexmark Photo Editor." 2. Click on "File" and then "Open" to select the color image file. 3. Click on "Image," "Mode" and then select "Grayscale." 4. Click on "Print."
This will print the image in gray.
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
alternative : Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover. 2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.) 3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.) 4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring. 5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.
If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6. If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service. 6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. 7. Turn the printer off. 8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. 9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.
