It would be best to install the printer driver first before plugging the printer into your Windows Vista computer. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the printer driver for your Lexmark X4270 printer on your computer. Use the links below. Select the correct version for your operating system.
- Lexmark X4270 Printer Driver for Vista 32-bit - Lexmark X4270 Printer Driver for Vista 64-bit
Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen.

My computer just wont seem to recognize my lexmark x7675 all in one printer. when i plug it in is seems to think its a mass storage devic. And it wont print i am running windows vista

Microsoft is trying to utilize it's plug and play ability. What you need to do for a printer is install the software that came with it. There should be a CD that came with it. If not, then go to this website and install the driver software. http://support.lexmark.com/index?segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_X7675&page=product&frompage=null#1

Just copy and paste that into your browser and download the driver files. This should fix your problem.

Installing a driver for a BJC-85 on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7 32 bit

There is no Windows 7 driver planned as this printer is obsolete on the cannon website.
It does not even support windows XP or Vista, only up to Windows 2000.

I bought a new laptop that runs on Vista and

Try plugging the printer in with no drivers and test it. This usually works as most printers do not need installation software because Vista has plug and play capabilities.

If this doesn't work, visit the HP website and choose drivers and software. Find your model number and download the Vista software or plug and play software.

Sharing printer

May your printer doesn't fit to your operating system because Windows Vista is one of the complicated OS and hard to find installer or software to fit it in. Try to Replace your operating system that same as your brother have. maybe it can fix your problem!
