Open the Top compartment. Slide the cartridge you are changing towards the bypass tray and lift out. Put new cartridge in same slot and slide into place.
Copier problem
1. If it doesn it when you print and copy then you have toner on the laser **** glass.
2. If it does it only when you scan then you might want to check for dust buildup on the mirrors or your laser is going bad. I dont think it's the laser though.
3. A bad drum can also cause ghosting and so can a bad fuser.
Suggestion: give it a good cleaning, check the drum and fuser for wear. Make a copy and print off the counter page or something. Compare the two.

Ricoh 3500L fax machine
i think you are in manual mode.. try searching for an auto mode, or a big button to receive faxes.. ... in manual mode, the guy should usually ask (in a call) you to give you feed so you give him line by pressing some big button.. and you also need to always have paper.. otherwise it wont be done
:Load Papers"
Hi there this should be a simple one there are three suggestions the first one if you goto word or which ever program you are using goto file then select page setup once in there check the paper size is correct to the paper that is in the machine and check that paper source is from tray (Cassette) I trust this is the only printer on your system if not you must select this printer before you start the above.
The second on is in the properties of the printer goto start printers and faxes the right hand click on the printer and select printing preferences. Once in there check that you are set for the cassette for paper feed and the print size is set to same as original.
The third one is on the machine itself go into the menu and select paper handling and set the cassette to be used first and make sure it is set to the correct size paper as well.
The most common one would be the first one as not many people change the settings within the driver or the machine.
Hope this is some help to you
Thanks J
"Load paper"
hey not a big problem. its usually encountered by many users.
i too get this many times.
this happens when you keep papers freshly.
it needs to sense the papers kept.
now what you do is just keep more papers or try re-aligning the papers kept inside
Message toner is low
save your self the trouble and just buy the toner cartridge you need. I Think you can go to ricoh.com to down load a manual. hope this helps.
White streaks in print outs
Check transfer roller, or change black cartidge, if it only happens to the black then there is something wrong with that part of the process.
Waste Toner Light won't go off?
The waste toner is usually a bottle near the toner cartridge which collects excess toner powder from the cartridge. It is usually present in more heavy duty laser printers, not all printers have them as a replaceable supply. You would need to refer to your manual for replacement instructions, they vary from printer model. For this machine, the Waste Toner supply number is #420131.
In the case of the first poster, my best guess would be there was spillage of toner on the sensors to detect the waste basket overflowing, hence why the error message is constant. This would require cleaning of the sensors, a relatively simple task but for proper access, the machine would need to be partially disassembles for thorough cleaning. It would be best done at a repair centre.
Tray 1 problems
Most machines refer to the bypass tray as tray 1. You might want to make sure there is not a jam in there.
Hi,
I have Ricoh Aficio MP c2800, Machine say toner undetectable all four when i check system status and yellow, cyan is not show up on copies at all
If your Ricoh Aficio MP C2800 is showing "toner undetectable" messages for all four toner cartridges and the yellow and cyan colors are not showing up in copies, there may be several potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem:
- Check Toner Cartridges: Ensure that all four toner cartridges are correctly installed and securely seated in their respective slots. Make sure there are no protective seals or tapes left on the cartridges.
- Shake Toner Cartridges: Sometimes, toner inside the cartridges can settle or clump, leading to detection issues. Gently shake each toner cartridge side to side to redistribute the toner evenly.
- Replace Toner Cartridges: If the toner cartridges are old, empty, or expired, replace them with new, genuine Ricoh toner cartridges.
- Clean Contacts: Dust or debris on the toner cartridge contacts can interfere with communication. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the electrical contacts on both the toner cartridges and inside the printer.
- Check Developer Unit: The developer unit in the printer plays a crucial role in toner development and transfer. Ensure that the developer unit is clean and free from any obstructions.
- Perform a Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Ricoh MP C2800 printer. Updating the firmware might address known issues and improve printer performance.
- Reset the Printer: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Power the printer on to see if the issue resolves.
- Check Toner Detection Sensors: The printer uses sensors to detect the presence of toner cartridges. Verify that these sensors are functioning correctly and not blocked by any debris.
- Perform a Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on the printer. However, be aware that this will reset all settings to their defaults, and any custom configurations will be lost
