I've had this printer for over a year now. I have it set up wirelessly connected to my network. The biggest problem I have is that I have 3 computers in the household and sometimes, for whatever reason, this printer will not realize it is done printing from the last job and will continue to think that it is working. So, when you go to print to it from another computer, you get the Another computer is using the printer. Please wait. This will continue until you go and turn the printer off and wait for the insanely long turning off cycle, then turn it back on. <br /><br />Once you do get it working, it gives you great output for both text and photos. I have been doing a lot of scanning old black and white family negatives and printing them, and my family members thought the prints were from a photo lab. <br /><br />Bottom line: if you want excellent output and have a tolerance for quirky connections, you will be OK with this. If, like my wife, you just want it to work like an appliance, and find the locking up infuriating, I would not recommend it.

As rated by CU, it produces very nice photo prints. Text quality is also good when set on standard but not so good on fast. It takes it's time to get started when you send it something to print, whirring and clicking for a good minute before anything actually prints. My main complaint is paper handling. I sometimes print mailing labels from sheets. My previous printer, an HP 7560, would accept a sheet with an upward curled front lip. The Canon iP7220 either doesn't accept it or jams up solidly.

Tried brochure paper and spent two days trying to get color right. Used glossy and matte photo paper for great print results, mostly. color shifted for no apparent reason. First batch of matte paper worked great, others jammed every 2-5 sheets. Will not pick up matte paper sometimes, gets worse the more I try.

I get a double image with my Epson c120. I replaced the color ink cartridge for about $49 in order to be able to print black and white text but I get this almost unreadable output. Any suggestions?

try doing print head cleaning.. the feature is under the printer properties , utilities tab... then once done.. print a copy of nozzle check..see if there is any missing line..

How to improve print quality Cleaning the print head
To ensure good print quality, the MFC will regularly clean the print head. You can start the cleaning process manually if needed. Clean the print head and ink cartridges if you get a horizontal line in the text or graphics on your printed pages. You can clean Black only or three colors at a time (Cyan/Yellow/Magenta), or all four colors at once.
Cleaning the print head consumes ink. Cleaning too often uses ink unnecessarily.
Caution
Do NOT touch the print head. Touching the print head may cause permanent damage and may void the print head’s warranty.
1 Press Ink.
2 Press or to select Cleaning.
Press Menu/Set.
3 Press or to select Black, Color or All.
Press Menu/Set.
The MFC will clean the print head. When cleaning is finished, the MFC will go back to standby mode automatically. If you clean the print head at least five times and the print has not improved, call Brother Customer Service (see Brother numbers on page i).
Checking the print quality
If faded or streaked colors and text appears on your output, some of the nozzles may be clogged. You can check this by printing the Print Quality Check Sheet and looking at the nozzle check pattern.
1 Press Ink.
2 Press or to select Test Print.
Press Menu/Set.
3 Press or to select Print Quality.
Press Menu/Set.

Printer output has shadows, blurring, streaks, lines, poor color

Seem like blocked hole(s) on the color print head...
Most likely if there is a deep clean option then do it (may need a few times to unblock a hole or never).
Also get the printer physically cleaned up if you can see dusts inside (vrtical lines on color bars).

Tiny shadow lines around text & graphics

Sometimes a problem is with the printhead if it does that. Most likely a printhead. I'm sorry. Print a nozzle test pattern and you will be able to see what color has extra ink.
