I have an 85 Ford bronco that cuts out at 45 to 50 mph. It doesnt die all the way. Just cuts out and makes the vehicle jump. I have replaced the fuel piupmp on the side of the engine and the inline fuel...

It sounds like it is starving for fuel when you reach those speeds.I believe it to be the fuel float in the carburetor.A new carburetor is very expensive as with a rebuilt unit.If you are mechanically inclined you can replace the fuel float and needle valve for about $20 or get a complete rebuild kit for about $35 to $40 dollars. If you have ever built a plastic model you should be able to do a rebuild yourself.A good quality kit comes with complete disassembly and assembly instructions with diagrams.Give it a try.

I have a 1958 ford f-100 idles fine when i give it gas i can press pedal half way down but if i go to floor it sounds like a major air leak and the truck dies

You need to rebuild the carburetor is my opinion based on your symptoms. The carb rebuild kit comes with full instructions and you can get it here.

I have a 69 Ford F100, 1 barrel carburater, the choke needs to be wide open for it to run. When I switch gears, I need to close choke and open it back up when I shift-this is the only way it will run. If I...

You need to rebuild the carburetor. As it is a 1 barrel its relatively easy to rebuild if you can find a kit, but it is the original carb and difficult to find parts. You may also consider buying a Holley 2 barrel carb - it will bolt right on and give you more power, and they are much more common and easier to find rebuild kits and parts. It's possible you may need an adapter plate, depending on the configuration of your intake manifold, but that will be easy to find. You can either shop online or buy from your local auto parts store or high performance shop. That old 1 barrel has had its day and I'm sure it served you well, but I think I would upgrade to a newer carb myself. You may be able to clean it out using carb cleaner spray but it would be hard to clear out that clogged jet that is causing your trouble, and then you will likely tear the gasket when you take the top off that carb.

Having truble with my carburater on a 1984 ford 1500 how can i rebuild it

You can order rebuild kits at your local auto parts store. Tell them the model, and engine size. They will also need some details about your carburetor, such as - 4 barrel or 2? Follow the instructions in the kit exactly, and replace all the gaskets/seals, whether they look like they need it or not.

How do i change a carborator

If you're vehicle is 84 or prior you may have a carburetor, (some models earlier or later by a few years) if you are asking about the van you have in the picture spot for the question that looks like 98-2004 ish Caravan, no way it has a carburetor. It would have a throttle body probably. If that isn't what you're working on you can check for an ID tag on the carburetor and order a new one (or a rebuild kit) and rebuild it or straight bolt on bolt off replace it. Most new carburetors come tuned to stock specs... so you shouldn't need to tune it once its on.

I need a break down picture of the transmition. we are thinking of purchasing a wreaked 2005 excape and the transmition mounts are broken. Do we need to purchase a whole transmition or replace the housing...

Just buy the Trans Case,if you intend to rebuild the wrecked vehicles trans. Check with a trans shop,as to where they get cores, cases and hard parts, then buy direct from the aftermarket parts supply houses.
Also get an ASTG Repair Book for your model trans.

Go to a junkyard and buy the carburetor off another truck. Parts are not generally available for 29 year old carburetors. Then make one good one out of the two old ones and your kit. If it is a you can probably buy a new carburetor from Holley to fit the truck. They are expensive. Good Luck.
