Check under both seats and make sure the wire harness is plugged in all the way. Some times shoving stuff under the seat unplugs wiring harness; seat belt sensor, occupant weight senor for air bags, heated seats & power seats (could be more than one wiring harness. Look inside belt buckle fastener; is it crusty with anything (food, crumbs, coin change)? Blow it out with a portable can of air. Make sure both the male/female parts of belt are clean, non-rusted/corroded & non-damaged to make good electrical connection when belted in; this turns off your belt warning light and bell. Check all wiring from the belt buckle release a the way down to under the seat; both sides...both seats They both seats could be interlinked into system; when one fails (bad connection) the other seat sensor fails also.

I thought mine might just be dirty in as having some type of blockage because if I hit it 3 or 4 times it would shut off. I tried several approaches to a fix but what finally worked was to spray some brake cleaner with the straw attachment to concentrate the application directly into the belt receptacle. At least for now of one day of stop and go and in and out of the vehicle driving deems to have cured the problem. I think there was some type of small debris the blast from the brake cleaner dislodged.

SOURCE: seat belt alarm stays on
You can disconnect it yourself. There is a wire lead that comes from the seatbelt fastener, you may need to lift the carpet up a bit. This lead will have a connector, dis connect it at the connector. This will deactivate the alam, however your seatbelt light will remain on. From here you can see where the malfunctioning switch is, if you feel confident to change it.

This means one of the door ajar sensors is stuck. You need to remove the door trim panel and then the latch and then the sensor. Once out clean and lube it. There is a sensor inside every door.

You don't. It is there as a reminder to use your seat belt, you know that. Disconnect it and fail inspection in some states. You can thank all those poeple who never worn seat belts 30 years ago when it became a law,for the warning buzzer you don't care for.

Hello, This is an unusual combination for problems. It sounds like you have a bad ground wire to the seat belt system if it is using that chime to signal.
The fuelcap warning works off of the Evaporative Emissions system and should be covered by Federal Emmisions laws which require the parts to last longer than the Factory Warranty. Both the Years and the Mileage are Warranteed to last longer. Your car is older, so you would need to look in your original car papers at the requirements in 2004 or ask the Dealer. A special test, called a smoke test is how the leaks are detected. This requires a special machine and only a Dealer can do Warranty work, but Independents have the machines too.
The ABS system may have corroded connectors in the plug-ins. After a little current flows through the wires, the moisture is burned off and a better connection results after time passes. The is why you have an intermittent reoccurring problem. The ABS module can be Scanned separately from the engine. You just need to go somewhere they have a proper scanner.
Advance, Autozone, and Oreilys give free scans. You should call ahead and ask if they have the equipment to scan the ABS brake modules. Usually the ABS warnings are accurate and the brakes should be checked if the scan indicates it.

30 minutes or seconds? does the dome lamp come on, like one of the doors not closed all the way? A good repair shop or the Ford dealer can get a scanner and watch for the belts, doors, lights, ect ( I think thats the only thing that will ring a chime) as you drive and see whats making it go on.
