How do I remove and replace the fuel pump on a 1978 Chevette?

Hi Dan,I use to have a couple of Chevettes, great on gas,Here's a link on your fuel pump removal, never had a issue with that,on these, you have to change the timing belt every 3 years ,the belt will stretch and jump time and the plugs will get fouled, here's another link on your timing belt if the fuel pump replacement doesn't work, also check your spark plugs. No brakes! Pressure dropped

fill up your brake fluid,
have someone step on the brakes, while you look to see where it is leaking from..
if you cant see in properly, remove the wheel..

steel brake lines?...probably rusted out from normal aging..

you may have to wipe down the lines with a rag 1st, to clean them up a bit, before looking for leaks.

hope this helps.

My windshield wipers quit working.

one wire will be power one wire will low speed wiper and one wire will be high speed wiper.you need to check the grounding of the wiper motor.if you take a jumper wire and attach one end to the battery, or a good ground at the motor or somewhere and the other end then make good contact to the body of the wiper motor and it should work,if it does then you need to permantly hook up a ground wire to the wiper motor.this was a common problem.

Need to know how to remove the back seat in

Get a number 10 metric or a 7/16" socket and feel at the base of the seat bottom....should be two bolts holding the seat to the floor one on each side, use your light and perhaps you will need to peel back the carpet going to the seat bottom.

What is the proper timing on a 1978 Chevrolet

My Motor book gives no timing for your engine that year, which suggests that it is preset. However that size engine ( should be a 97 cu. in. or 1600cc) for the 2 years before shows 8 degrees before TDC for a manual trans and 10 for an automatic. Hope this helps.
