With commercial machine like the ImageRunner, it is often staff roughly removing the jammed paper and leaving a tiny piece of torn paper over one of the sensors.

Remove the wall mains plug. Remove all the paper trays. remove the toner cartridge, open all the side doors and look carefully with a flashlight for a small piece of paper.

I have a Canon ImageRunner I seem to have a paper jam. The red light is coming on showing the jam in the upper section of the machine but I have cleared all the sections I know to clear. I have turned the machine off and back on the jam light is still on. I can't find the Manuel to see what the problem is. What should I do?

Hello, if the paper jams in the fuser you first must check the separation fingers. If the paper comes out of the fuser unit and gets jamed you must check the delivery rollers to be clean and the sprokets to be in good working condition.

Do you mean that you have paper stucked, before drum, in the right lower door ( not big one, but lower in the same height as paper cass )?
when you open that lower right door, there must be an axis with two small rollers of +/- grey colour, use some alcohol or water and clean it verry well.
To prevent more jams, you need to apply pressure on that door.Use some iso tape and fix it on small channal on top, wich will apply pressure on black plastic guide, wich is pressed when the door is closed.Do not over react with tape, about 0,3-0,5 mm would do the job.

there is a possibilty that one of the jam sensors is stuck and needs freed and or a piece of paper is blocking the sensor.

There are several possibilities. After you inspect for the Jam and close the drawer, does the copier come to ready? Have you checked the behind the doors on the right side. If the copier comes to ready and you press the start button does the copier jam right away. If so check the dial on the paper drawer and be sure its set to the right size paper. If its not the copier will jam, right away. It is important with a Canon to check all areas and open both the paper drawer and the right side doors when checking for jam, if the right sequence is not followed in checking for jams the jam may not clear. If still Jammed you might take some canned air open the right side door and blow out the paper feed area, a sensor may be blocked or dusty. If all else fails turn the machine off and un-plug it from the wall, let it set a few minutes and plug it in and try it again.
