You will probably have a broken hinge at the back left hand side of the Doc. cover. This means that the cover won't close properly at the back corner, and the cover sensing switch won't actuate.
That message in Pages means the file is not an AppleWorks 6 file, possibly AppleWorks 5. Are you using the same version? Not all are backward compatible, or require you to have the compatibility pack installed.
the top that you put the pappers in to copy mare than one sheet.
make sure all doors are closed.
lift doc feederas if making copy on glass look where the hinges are there should be a plunger next to one of them, that is the switch to tell it if it's open or flat. try pressing it down to see if message goes away, it may need adjusting.
Hi ,
The lens cover error is because the stepper motor in the camera is unable to open the lens cover. I have a solution posted in doc "nikon s5 s6 lens cover error repair.doc" uploaded on site http://www.esnips.com/web/papputatiyasStuffIt will be helpfull for you.You have written that your lense is broken. In that case you can follow the procedure given in my doc to open the camera. You can replace the camera lens if broken. Happy debuggingMukesh
There is a latch that preses a small switch when you close the cover (look for this) to indicate that it it close if it is broken you can tweek it using a toothpick or anything that may press the switch temporarily this may alow it to work as long as the switch stays down.
No solution, but I have the same problem. THe printer starts up fine, I hear no grinding noises or other "funny" nioses, and then displays no error message... UNTIL I ask it to print. Then I get a message that says, "Pls (please) Open Cover".
I open the cover and it says "Please Close Cover".
I close the cover and it says, "Please Open Cover"
I had the same problem with mine. Lift the top scanner, and check the hinges on the left. That error message means that the little black sensor on the left next to the hinges is not meeting flat with the unit when closed. Hold the sensor in for a few seconds, and your printer will start working properly.
