My lexmark x544 gets a black line down the page when i put it in the tray feeder. What do I do?

Is the black mark in the same place on all print outs? If so, it could be that the paper feed rolls may be dirty.

Black lines on copy only when printing but copying is ok i.e km 1650

If this only occurs when using the document feeder then you will need to clean the smaller glass that sits next to the large glass that you manualy place your documents. The document feeder scans the originals over the small glass and any ink ,whiteout that may be on the glass will appear as lines down the pages

I have a Epson cx11 and get a black vertical line down the middle of scans and copies

Check your flat bed and Document feeder scanning glass need to be clean, if any dot or dust in scanning glass of document feeder it will appear a line, check this points first
1- Check printouts from computer or FAX if it is clean problem in scanning section
2- Check using Copying a blank paper using only Flatbed if it prints without any line its problem from document feeder Scanning glass
So solution is clean the Document feeder scanning glass using wet cloth, note careful about wet cloth switch off the machine and clean it

When I use the feeder either for scanning or copying, the page has a black vertical line . When I make normal copies or print outs it is fine, only the feeder makes the black line. Thank you

Under the Automatic Document Feeder is a small glass.
This glass becomes dirty, creating lines on the page.
open up the scanner cover and clean the glass

Copies are being printed with a line vertically down the side of the page. Only happens when copying using the hopper.

If it's a thin, sharp line, it's just a blob of ball-point pen ink on the scanner glass. Lift the lid, and you'll see the narrow strip of glass that the scanner uses when you feed a document through the feeder. Clean that with a rag dampened with window cleaner, or, better yet, alcohol. Even a dot of ink too small to see will show as a solid black line on anything you copy, scan, or fax via the doc. feeder.
Don't use so much cleaner that it runs under the glass.

Black lines down on printed page

This is caused by dirt/debrise on the ADF (automatic document feeder) scanner glass. You need to open up the feeder where your originals are fed in and look for a strip of glass that runs from front to back. It is about an inch or so wide. You need to clean this glass to get rid of the lines. Some models have this glass just to the left of the large main glass, but in your case I beleive it is in the feeder itself.
Good Luck.

I have a problem with our HP3030 in that when I try to photocopy using the document feeder, the pages all come out with a double black line running down the centre of each page. The same problem comes with...

You're right. There is probably debris on the glass where the paper passes through. It's a common problem. You'll have to raise up the scanner so that you can see the glass. Then clean it off and you're back on business.

Black line when using feeder

Not familiar with this model in particular, but if you lift the document feeder, as if to place an original on the glass, there is either a narrow filter glass on the left of the main contact glass, or in many cases it is attached (clipped on) and lifts up with the document feeder cover. Clean this glass. If it is clipped on to the cover, remove it, and clean both sides. I hope this helps.

Please rate solution :)
