No error codes-washes but does not spin- water stuck in bottom
Starts to wash but seems to get stuck when it comes time to spin. I hear it start, then it stops and timer does not change. Water at bottom of machine, about 3 inches will not drain. Spin only does not do anything. No error codes are showing
Re: no error codes-washes but does not spin- water stuck...
If if water is still in drum at end off cycle then it wont go into a finel spin this is due to the water still in the presure tube that gose to presure switch this then gose from switch to pcb or timer , mane problems for not spinning is motor brushes won, pump not draining drum or pcb or timer ,if water is still in drum at end off cycle check that pump is working and make sure pump fittle is clean, hope this helps someone

Re: no error codes-washes but does not spin- water stuck...
If your machine is a FAV6800A to FAV9800A here is the Service Manual. If you lift the washer lid and rotate the wash basket CCW which is the Spin Cycle direction will it turn with very little resistance? It should not rotate CW. With no error codes I would go to Service Mode page 14 of the Service Manual and read the current recorded Daig codes and write them down then clear the list. Now start a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket let it in that mode for about 5 minutes. Hit the off button to end the Spin Onlly cycle then check the Diag code block and see if an error event was logged if so please let us know. If there is no error code generation by the Control Board in the Diag code blocks I would suspect a Control Board issue with your no Spin issue.. Without a known good Control Board and Motor Controller to swap out and no error code generation by the Control Board this would be a hard problem to troubleshoot. The Control Board is under warranty for 5 yrs you could try Maytag Customer Service the number is in the SM and see if they will send you one even if the warranty is up…..Rich
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Could be several reasons:
- Selected the "Night cycle" program (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: too much noise in the spin cycle)
- Set to the "Rinse hold" (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: wrinkles on the clothes)
According to your description I think that this is not a failure otherwise error E20 will be appears on display.
Once the washing programme has come to an end, END illuminates on the programme progress display.
If RINSE HOLD was selected, the display beside the START/ PAUSE button flashes. 1. After a rinse hold, the water must first be pumped out:
- Either press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun according to the completed programme;
After the START/PAUSE button is pressed again, the spin speed can still also be changed during spinning), or
- Turn the programme selector to PUMP OUT and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out without spinning),or
- Turn the programme selector to SPIN or SHORT SPIN and press theSTART/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun or gently spun).
At the end of this programme step, the END indicator will illuminate. 2. Open the door.
As soon as the DOOR indicator lights up green, the door can be opened.
I had the same problem, My issue was a small sock that was sucked into the drain tube at the bottom of the washer. The technician removed the bottom panal and drained (a lot) of water from the tubing, then the sock came out, it had been preventing the water from draining out. It didn't seem to be a difficult repair to do on your own
check in the manual for the error code most of washing machine
if the error code is in users manual its means its only minor problem, but if
the error code is not in users manual its means you need to call an service
technician to not waste your money or time if you do by your self. F:18? if this error is for water stuck? for
the automatic washing machine mostly have drain pump, please check the filter
of your drain pump, if clog your drain pump of some hair pins, cotton buds or
coins or any small item, that the cause of water stuck, and it will long time
draining or totally not running the drain pump.and its cause of stop of cycle
of washing machine in rinse time or spin time, because after washing the pump
must be on to remove water before start the next cycle.
Most possibly be Error code 56,
Is common in 11 series machines & early series 12. Is your machine beeping & showing a weird pattern of lights on the wash cycle, It is displaying an error code, To read this error code you start at the red spin light & work to the left only add up the lights that are on. Red spin light = 1 2nd rinse light =2 1st rinse light =4 last wash light=8 4th wash light=16 3rd wash light=32 2nd wash light=64 1st wash light=128
Hi, water not draining fast enough. Try holding the start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash, rinse and final spin leds should light. Any error codes should be displayed when holding those keys. If you see a different error code, post it. If not, I would suspect a clogged pump. Drop the bottom front panel. The pump sits on the right side. Disconnect the drain hoses and clean them and the pump impeller out.
Try this: The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off.Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too.
A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running. Grab a flash light and have a peek inside the washer for this. Front load washers seem very common to this happen! If the tiny cloth is showing signs of fraying, may be best not to wash it in the washing machine, replace the cloth.======= It's noisy
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
problem started when washer started itself up twice in the middle of the night....after that the washer seems to have problems figuring out what it wants to do...when running a wash it will start, run for 2 minutes then start scanning numbers...it does not land on a code...it will spin, stop, start...sears has replaced the mother board 3 times....and we will be phoning them again as it has not fixed the problem..one other time it did not spin properly and clothes were wet...we have a dedicated surge protector on it...we have had our electrical checked and no problems there...sears confirmed that as well..the techs have given up on it and don't know what to do with anymore...it is still under warranty and now costing sears more to service it then replace it....time for them to do the right thing and "take it back"...very disappointed in this washer...wish me luck when i call them again...they must be sick of hearing from me....lol
