5B00 is a waste pads full error. you need to get this reset by a service center and it may be economical to replace the waste ink absorbers

Remove the Canon Pixma 1200 software that is currently installed. Restart your computer. Download a fresh installer program from the Canon website here:

Select your Operating System and Language from the drop downs and click on Submit. After the installer program has finished downloading, run it and follow the onscreen instructions. Remember that some printer installer programs do not work very well when the printer is plugged into your comptuer at the time of installation.
