Mp3 player is empty, but won't accept new mp3 files
I have a 1G Zen Nano Plus that I bought about two years ago. I ran out of room on it, so I started deleting files to make more room. It is now completely empty of music files (and those were the only kind of files I was keeping on it) and when I try to add a new file to it, it says that I only have 1.8 MB of space left and there's not enough room on the disk to add the new file. However, when I turn it on, it says, "no music" and doesn't show any files in its menu. What do I do to add more files?
Re: mp3 player is empty, but won't accept new mp3 files
Click on the drive under "My Computer" then enable view hidden files under the tools/folder options/view tab. You should see a bunch of file source things pop up, then delete those

try formatting the device and reset it to original factory settings.(procedure given in instruction manual) and then using the firmware manager that came as installation cd with the device, upgrade the software .. hope your problem is tackled. thanks for using fixya!. please dont forget to rate my solution.
Have you tried backing up all the songs and re-formatting the player? This sounds like it could be a filesystem problem...
Or you could check for a firmware upgrade. That's what fixed mine when it wouldn't play mp3s; a new firmware might have a bugfix for your problem. Firmware is available at:
Well, if you are new to the creative zen Nano plus, you may not have figured out how to turn it on. hold the play/pause button until the mp3 lcd screen lights up and that should work. if this is not the case i am sorry i cant help, but i also have a creative zen Nano Plus so i could find out for both of our benefits. i hope i helped!
I had a similar problem yesterday with my Creative ZEN V 2GB. After charging it with the USB, it wouldn't turn back on. No lights or anything. I read somewhere that if you hold down the power switch for a few seconds, and while holding down stick a pin or needle into the reset switch on the side, it will reset the player. Amazingly, this did work for mine. It now powers on with no problems. Hope that helps.
I`ve had the same problem twice, it seems the player erases the whole firmware when this happens. You can fix this by plugging it to your computer in recovery mode, this will allow you to reinstall firmware.(Search google for zen nano plus recovery mode to find instructions.)
My creative zen nano plus 1GB bought 6 months back, when connected to the comp it hangs...then after long time it gives an error message that write file delayed in F:. I didn't even try to write any file...the right click also hangs the computer after long time
here is a fix if your creative zen nano plus just hang on the creative logo when you turn your player on.
download, Creative ZEN Nano Plus firmware.
you can find it at the creative website, download section.
double click the file you just dl'ed, now make sure your
zen nano player is already connected to your pc when you run the file. it may take a bit of time before your pc can detect your zen nano be patient, a window prompt will soon appear asking if you want to update your firmware with the one youve just dl'ed.
now, dont worry if the firmware is the same as the one already
installed in your zen nano, just continue with the update.
you can also check the box in which there is the option of also formatting the drive. ( note: all files in your zen nano will be lost)
after the firmware is flashed you can now play and transfer files to your zen nano plus.

Try downloading the latest relevant drivers, firmware, and applications.
For example there is a firmware update from Aug 06 that has this fix:
* Resolves the issue of your player (battery level full) turning off, while playing a 128 kbps DRM-protected WMA file.
Download the file double click for installation and then restart your computer. Try it, this may solve the problem.
