I have been using the OEM cartridge - but regardless, is there a way to clean the head?

  • atwhistler Apr 28, 2009

When I did the test, it does not list that cartridge - just 6c (2 samples),6m (2 samples) ,6y and 6BK.

  • atwhistler Apr 28, 2009

Did try that... trying to figure out how to remove the carriage to try to clean it - any tips?

  • atwhistler Apr 28, 2009

thanks for trying to help me - I appreciate it.

Are you using OEM cartridges or reloads? Sometimes the reloaded cartridges gum up the nozzles especially the black ink. If you have not tried an OEM black cartridge I woud try it.

You can remove the carriage and gently wipe the heads with a damp (water only) soft cloth. The same on the cartridge.
Does the status show that the black ink is being sensed?

  • Robert Kitaji Apr 28, 2009

Do you have another cartridge that you can try. It is possible that the cartridge is defective.

I think you're at the point of having to take the printer into a service center. The disassembly and replacement of the carrier is not something you should try yourself. Sorry.

3EBK nozzle appears to be clogged. Repeated cycles of "deep cleaning" are effective.

The nozzles are block, this is cause be periods on non use. The print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

3e black cartridge not printing. Canon i860

Did you try another cartridge?

What can happen sometimes is that the print head can get blocked.
You can clean that by removing the print head from the printer. Do not touch the foil on the head or the print nozzles.

Boil some water, pour 1/4 of an inch (6mm) of water into a saucer, place the print nozzles in the water for a minute or so.

Take the print head out of the water and touch it on a paper towel to get the water off.

Reassemble the printer and see what happens...

The 3ebk nozzle check shows problems and prinitng is blurred

Hi,

First of all you take out your cartridge form printer and try to clean nozzle from tissue paper then insert the cartridge in your printer then take a print out. If it is still not working then you have change your cartridge.

Cyan not printing on my Canon i860 printer. Put in new Canon cartridge. Did deep cleaning 5 times and took the cartridge out and cleaned with a swab and alcohol. No change.

There's usually a sticker over the bottom holes and maybe one over the electronics (?) make sure these are off.

Possible bad cartridge.

Check if there is a tape over the top vent intended to let air into the ink tank and so ink can flow out to the writing head.

3eBk will not print. Canon MP780

Replacing the printhead may work, but it could be a problem with the cleaning assembly. Take out the 3ebk and run a cleaning, if the ink goes away on the pad where the ink cart. goes, then clean assy. is OK, and you need a new printhead.

Canon ip4000r doesn't print 3ebk (black)

First of all... have you tampered with the printer's firmware? If not, it's unlikely it became corrupted. But if replacing the ink cartridges with fresh ones, and using a new print head did not fix your problem, you may be out of luck.

Is this a new problem, or has it always been like this?

Could it be that the print driver is always printing photo? In that case, it uses the narrow black ink cartridge instead of the fat 3eBK cart. You should print a nozzle check pattern and verify that you see the 3eBK cartridge pattern. If you do, the problem is likely SOFTWARE... your driver settings, not the printer itself.

I hope this helps.

Canon i860 won't print deep colors

I had similar problem: everything muted and with brownish tint. Tried everything, finally discovered that I installed wrong cartridge: 6PC instead of 6C. The "photo" cartridges are pretty much the same, make sure you have the right ones: 6C, 6M, and 6Y.

Big black cartridge not printing

Try replacing your printer ink cartridges with a new one.Chances are you have bought a defective cartridge. If that does not work, pls try to check the slot for your black ink for obstructions, then replace your black ink cartridge.
