If you have any of the following problems you may want to check the site www.tvrepairkits.com for a repair kit. Most of the issue below are fairly common with the older Magnavox projection sets.

Symptom: Screen shrinks and expands - may or may not correct itself after the TV warms up. After a few days, weeks, or months of having the shrinking/expanding problem you may loose all audio/video but the power light will remain lit!

(Note: The below symptoms typicaly occurs after having the expanding/shrinking screen problem above)

Symptom: No Audio or Video but power light is on

Symptom: Audio works but no Video. Power light still work

Symptom: No Video. Audio is intermittent. Power light still works

Your TV has three picture tubes which are aligned to properly converge the projected light beams on the screen. Each picture tube projects a single color of Blue Green or Red. During production your TV was carefully adjusted to properly align these colors. COLOR CONVERGENCE PROBLEM COLOR SHAWDOWS WE HAVE

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic

,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
