SOURCE: GE washer agitates but won't spin

I think you may have a stopped up pump does it drain the water out if not it will not spin. A putty knife inserted 2 inches in from each side will release the spring catches and gently pull on front as you release sprins then look to the bottom right hand side and there is the pump clamp the tub to pump hose or **** water out with a shop vac take off tub to pump hose and then two 3/8 in screws that hold down the pump turn over where you can look in the pump may have an obstruction as always disconnect power before service.

SOURCE: ge washer

Pull up sharply on the agitator to remove it from the shaft. Check the agitator mounting cup underneath it is probably stripped out. It is a replaceable part.
If the agitator is difficult to pull up,use a old strong leather belt under the agitator and pull it off using the belt.

SOURCE: BAD LID SWITCH

This MANUAL shows how. What you must do is remove the front panel. It is kinda tricky. Use a thin blade to release clips between the top and front panel then tip the front panel towards you and lift it out yer way. Then you can remove the screws holding down the top and get to the switch.

GE Profile Harmony washer won't power up and trips gfi

Did you replace the inverter board?? It is inside the tan plastic box in the bottom of the control panel I think on the right side. That controls the power supply to a good part of the machine and drive system. Has to be a direct short somewhere to trip the breaker.

I have a GE freezer, model number FUF20DPARWH that blows a ground fault circuit breaker when it goes into the defrost cycle. The case is not "hot" when this occurs and it is plugged into a circuit th

Ralph, the only way to be sure of what is going on is to check the amp draw of the freezer when it is in defrost. If the amp draw is in range ( listed on model/serial tag ) you may have a GFI that is weak.. if unit does not defrost there will be an ice buildup on the lower half of the back wall... But with unit tripping GFI it probably is defrosting............ Ken Hawk

The washer fills just fine, but when it starts to agitate, it trips the GFI outlet. It's not the outlet, we tried 3 of them. The washer works just fine if it's plugged into a non-GFI outlet. Any ideas?

I do home inspections, and this is a no-no! GFI devices are not real happy with inductive loads, such as motors and refrigerators. Generally during home inspections, we find that GFI's older than 10 yrs. have a 75% failure rate using a sophisticated tester. The 5 yr. old devices are at 50%. I'd replace that outlet with a single outlet, dedicated to the washer. If it's near a sink, then you're required to stick with the GFI. I'd just repalce it with a new one. Good Luck!!
