Arthur, We are sorry to hear that your Washer is not completing a cycle. Please check to make sure that there are no kinks in your drain hose. We also would recommend disconnecting power from the breaker for at least a minute and then turning the breaker back on to do a master reset on the Washer. If you are in need of help after trying the reset, can you please email us your address, phone number, the model and serial number, the website you were contacted on, Fixya, your review ID, and date of purchase to [email protected]?
Based on your post, if you mean manually advancing the timer it will drain, it's a coupler. If you mean manually activating the lid switch, it is the lid switch or lid switch strike. ( this is based on the most common Whirlpool, Estate, Kitchen-Aid, Roper, Kenmore, Inglis top-load washer, not necessarily applicable toALL...based on the model provided, it cover's yours)
Thank you for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the info I provided and a short testimony is appreciated.
could be the transmission or the drive motor to transmission coupling. You say the agitator doesn't work but it washes fine please clarify your problem.
If it will not spin either, you most likely have a broken drive coupler. This machine is "direct drive" and has no belt. As techs, we see this several times during our work week. Otherwise, if you have the "two piece" agitator, you may simply need new "dogs" in the agitator. if the machine spins fine, fill it only on the smallest load size with no clothes in it. When the agitate cycle starts, take note if the bottom section of the agitator is going back and forth. If it is, and the upper part does not "ratchet" then you just need to rebuild the agitator and that is an easy job.
Check to make sure your drain hose has a loop at least as high as washer top. If the drain hose is not looped higher than tub water will continue to drain and it won't stop filling. If it doesn'y reach the correct fill level it won't agitate.
