I do have hp officeject 6500. how i can received fax or send fax

to receive fax, you must connect the fax line to the printer. All-in-one printer can received fax without computer.

You can enable fax confirmation before sending a fax by selecting Send & Receive
Press SETUP on the control panel
Press PRINT REPORT, then FAX CONFIRMATION
Press right arrow to select SEND & RECEIVE
Press OK

Hi,

There could be several reasons for it. the basic one is..

Press SETUP Button on front panel
Scroll to Fax setting or Advanced Fax settings - Press OK
Check for Error Correction Mode or ECM - Press OK
Turn the ECM Off - Press OK

Try to receive fax.

Is the printer doesn't have a phone line you cant receive or send fax.

I THINK IT DEPENDS ON HOW THEY'RE SENT. RECEIVING IS DEFAULT

Do u have separate phone line for fax and phone ?
the phone cable which is attached to the printer , it should be two prong cable..

Do you have answering machine attached to the all in one..
if yes then try changing the rings to ans of the printer.. it should be 2 more than the ans machine..
and in fax settings on the printer.. you will find an option in advance fax settings of ECM ( error correction mode) turn it off..
then try to send or recieve fax

Are you loading the document upside down?

Sorry these printers has capability to send faxes from the computer only but not receive.

But your idea is right on wasting paper on printing incoming faxes, These days HP has launched a new model which can receive fax to your computer without wasting paper See the link bellow:
