I do not have a manual. We use our fax machine a great deal and recently have been getting "NO RESPONSE" when our other stores are trying to fax us - WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??

Hi, i think your fax machine works fine, A "no response" message indicates that the receiver should accept your fax by hitting on the start button (normally its a green button) for you to able to send a fax or if no one in your friends location is receiving it. In this case you might as well set your fax machine to auto receive fax, defends on your fax machine's model. i hope this helps.

Well start checking for phone disturbances on cable, does the machine prints at all?

Either the memory has gone into a loop or the paper is not exiting the fax correctly and the m/c is going into a paper jam. So that when you clear the jam its prints the same doc again expecting it to be ok. If not then repost and will tell you how to clear the memory.

Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility.

Usually, fax machines don't have caller ID capability.. If the sender's fax number appears on the faxes you receive, it's just that they have programmed it into their fax machine as a header.

the number you called does not answer or busy-you may have reached a number not connected to fax or it is connected and not activated in receiving mode-check the number and call again.
if you have a message "out of memory"there is no enough memory available to send your fax.press stop/exit print the faxes stored in the memory to delete them then try again.

Call your cell phone from the fax machine and check the caller ID to make sure that it is the correct number for your fax machine. Next, call the fax machine from you cell phone, and make sure the fax machine rings. Problems like these are almost always a phone line issue, not the machine.
