Have an element 55" tv model ELGFW551. Turn on TV, picture excellent for about 2 to 5 minutes....then get vertial lines with a yellow/green screen and not a clear picture...what could it be

It is either a screen fault or a screen tab fault you need to take it to an engineer

How to fix the screen on my tv i only have half a screen vertially

this a problem with the TV. I recomend that you call some service tech TV. However you must go to the MENU, and make restore to the factory setup

Vertial yellow line appeared on screen of my inspiron 1420

Try connecting an external monitor to the 15 pin VGA plug located on the right side. You may have to initiate the external monitor by holding down the Function left of the Space bar and depressing the associated key, (it should have a little picture of a monitor).
If the display is fine on the external monitor then you have a bad LCD display. If you still get the yellow line on the external monitor your motherboard (system board) needs to be replaced.

I have a vertial line on some of the items I have just scanned also. Have not had this propblem before, The unit is a S500 and 4 or 5 yrs old with limited use. [email protected]

When scanning a document why do I get a green line running vertially through the document?

Possible hardware problem with the scanner.

Do the ff:

copy of a picture or document
scan of the same picture or document

If the line is still existing call the kodak technical support; Your printer is in need of repair

Sounds like you have a defected lcd screen you need to get it replaced your warrenty should cover this no problems. :)

Have it cleaned it souns like it has gotton ink on the feed rooler.

lg plasma tv is not for a novice to play with. the three main circuit boards are control. y and z sustain and they are not repairable
find a shop that can replace the defective one for you.

Try reseating the rinbbon cable (on the LCD panel) between the LCD panel and the main board first, otherwise the worst case will be new LCD panel. You sjould also lok for any caps with domed/leaking tops.

Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps.
Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
